Attending the three day fest, Cinema beyond Boundaries in New York, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar feels good with the international film dignities. He is exchanging notes with Hollywood directors, writers and music composers on understanding the global perspective in cinema. The director also said that Indian film industry and Hollywood can learn a lot from each other as the two industries seek to cater to the evolving nature of cinema.“There will be something that I take from them and they will take from us. While Hollywood has had a huge influence on the Indian industry, Bollywood and its actors too are garnering a lot of attention in the western film world,” said the filmmaker, who is well-known for his films like Chandni Bar, Page 3, Fashion and Heroine. The event would focus on the global influence of Indian cinema, forecast changes in the fast growing and rapidly evolving filmmaking industry. “Cinema has changed drastically over the years and films are now being made in different genres like commercial, edgy and radical to cater to the tastes of an evolving viewership,” he added.“Indian cinema is no more limited to audiences in India. We have viewers all around the world and hence understanding the global perspective is a must. Cinema Beyond Boundaries would get the viewers and the filmmakers together and would help us in serving them with good quality cinema,” Bhandarkar said. Well said Madhur Bhandarkar!

Who would not like to shake a leg with the dashing star of the Bollywood industry aka John Abraham? Huma Qureshi, who has not been in the industry for long has refused to do an item song with John Abraham in the upcoming movie Welcome Back. The actress, who was seen in the famous Anurag Kashyap’s movie Gangs of Wasseypur, has recently turned down the offer to shake a leg with Johnny boy since her demands were not being accepted by the filmmakers. It is being speculated that the actress was not happy with the paycheque, but was really keen to work with John. A close source to Huma said, “The makers of the film were very keen on signing her for the song but other commitments came in the way of her chance to dance with John.”When Anees Bazmee was contacted for the same, he put forth both the points, he said, “We wanted to have her in the song but then there were date issues. Also, she asked for a lot of money and that became a problem for us.”Now John will be seen with six girls in the song. We think that the actor has become even luckier with Huma’s refusal.

This news can cause a big worry to the fans of Ramleela star Ranveer Singh, as the actor, who is hospitalized in a suburban Mumbai hospital after being diagnosed with dengue, has shown no signs of improvement, even after being admitted for more than 60 hours.Ranveer is admitted to the Hinduja Surgical Health Care in Khar. Sources claim that the actor is currently put in isolation, and the doctors had even contemplated of shifting him to Intensive Care unit, but decided otherwise. "Ranveer's platelet count is not improving and he is experiencing excruciating pain in his bones and severe bouts of shivering. His parents are keeping vigil but they too are not allowed to meet him," said the sources. Singh, 28, contracted the disease when he was shooting in the coalmines of Durgapur, West Bengal. However, despite being unwell, he ignored it and continued shooting till the shoot’s wrap. And once he returned to Mumbai, he was diagnosed with an advanced stage of dengue. "He didn't pay much attention to it but if he was diagnosed two days earlier his condition may not have worsened the way it has," added the sources. Speaking of his alleged girlfriend Deepika Padukone, it is learnt that she has not paid him any visit so far, as she is out of Mumbai. Sources said, "She is currently in Goa, busy shooting for Homi Adajania's film. But I guess she keeps herself updated about his condition."Get well soon, chap!

Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman, who is most remembered for his role as Wolverine, may quit the quit the franchise soon, as he says that playing the character has been very compelling for him. It has been for a decade since Jackman has been playing the heroic mutant.Recently he spoke in length about his thoughts on reprising the iconic role. "Great parts always outgrow the actors that play them. If you forget that, it`s at your own peril. They are working on it now, and it would have to be very compelling for me to do it again. I`ve been doing it for 10 years," he said.On the idea of switching comic book characters or doing a crossover, the 44-year-old, said, "The great thing about comic books is that they threw Batman in with Wolverine or Spiderman. I have people ask me all the time, `Do you think Spider-Man can beat Wolverine?` It`s part of the DNA."He was speaking at the Spain film festival, where he had accompanied director Denis Villeneuve to promote his new movie Prisoners. Here comes the good news for the fans of Hollywood actress Halle Berry as buzz states that this former supermodel is making comeback on small-screen with Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi drama series Extant. Last she was associated with television was in 1991, when she was part of American soap opera Knots Landing. CBS is going to telecast the project, which is going to be produced by Spielberg`s Amblin Television and is 13 episodes long.For those unaware, Berry would be seen in the role of an astronaut, who was returned for a year long voyage in outer space on her own. "I`m always on the lookout for amazing roles, and when you see material that contains this strong of auspices, nuance and complexity, it compels me to run toward it no matter the medium," Berry said in a statement."For five months a year I`ll get to live with and play this incredibly intelligent and vulnerable woman, and for the remainder of the year I`ll continue to look for other roles that move me as deeply as this one," she added.You can catch the series in the summer of 2014.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s much awaited concert Shah Rukh Khan & Friends: Temptation Reloaded Live in Malaysia 2013 has been re-scheduled. It was slated for 11 October, 2013, but now due to some logistic and security issues following US President Barrack Obama’s visit on the 10th and 11th October in Malaysia, it has been postponed till next year. Further, the visit of Obama has also get cancelled.  Concert organizing spokesperson, O. Kumaraguru, said, “We have postponed and the decision will not be pulled back.” Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak also announced that Obama has postponed his visit due to the temporary US government shutdown. Kumaraguru explained, “If Obama had announced his delay earlier, perhaps the concert could have taken place on the fixed date. The Shah Rukh Khan & Friends concert is now scheduled to take place before April 2014 and the exact date is expected to be announced by the end of this month.”According to the statement, this (postponement) was due to security reasons, which was brought up following the date of the president’s visit to Malaysia being close to the date of the concert. The statement explains that Obama’s visit also raised logistic issues, which may affect the concert.Concert organizers further expressed their regret over the postponement and stated that who had purchased the ticket can get their refund.

From the moment Anil Kapoor bought the Indian Version official rights of the famous American T.V Series 24, The Trade, Press, Media and Viewers started drawing certain comparisons. Anil Kapoor's '24' premiered its first episode tonight at 10 pm on Colors. It also replaced the popular comedy show, Comedy Nights With Kapil.So how is the show? Jai get's a call from Nikita Rai (Mandira Bedi) who is a government agent at ATU. The minute Jai reaches the ATU Wing, He is informed about a serious threat on PoliticianAditya Singhania (Neil Bhoopalam) who is a Prime-Ministerial candidate and a youth icon. Aditya Singhania's life is in danger. Jai (While his way to ATU) get's a call from Wasim Khan (Anupam Kher) who is a Research and Analysis wing (RAW) officer informing about a "Rat" in ATU wing.Irritated by his father's behavior, Kiran goes out to party with her friends without informing her mother. The result is she goes missing.Aditya Singhania is ready to take his oath the next day with a prepared speech by his Mother (Anita Raj). But all hell breaks loose when he gets an immediate call from a T.V Channel head (Suchitra Pillai) who informs him about some of his dark crime which he committed 12 years back.A contract Killer is on his way from Thailand but killed in the Flight itself by another Femme Fatale. The Indian adaptation of '24', retains all the elements of the international series, the real-time, pulse-pounding, fast-paced format with split screens and complex interweaving storylines, with 24 episodes capturing 24 hours.Director Abhinay Deo does full justice with his dedicated direction along with tight screenplay by writers Rensil D'Silva and Milan Milaap Zaveri. This one does not at all looks like a T.V Series but it looks like a One Hour feature film on TV. Full marks to the Direction, Writing and Production team for creating a wonderful extravaganza on small screen. Performance wise, The show totally belongs to the one and only Anil Kapoor who makes you sit tight without touching your Remote Control buttons with his charm and persona. Keifer Sutherland as Jack Bauer might have been good there, but here Anil Kapoor is extra-ordinarily amazing as Jai Singh Rathod. Tisca Chopra, Anupam Kher, Mandira Bedi are superb in their respective parts. Neil Bhoopalam is just outstanding as Aditya Singhania and trust me, this first season belongs to him after Jai Singh Rathod. We are yet to see Shabana Azmi, But it was nice to see Anita Raj in a mind blowing role after a long time. Special mention to the actress who played Femme Fatale, The one who killed the contract killer and jumps from the flight. She hardly had 10 minutes in the First Episode, but she made her presence felt real strong.It is reported, some major channels initially refused to buy the idea of Indian Version of 24, At least not until Colors swooped in. I am very much sure those channels now regret it. I really have no clue or will not lay a challenge if 24 beats other Thrillers running strongly on other TV Channels with huge TRP's, But 24 will be the most exciting, The most talked about and the most interesting TV Mini Series India has ever produced.Prepare yourself on every Fridays and Saturdays at 10pm for a Thrilling roller coaster ride of 24 as this one is most Powerful, Gripping and an Honest show you will ever come across.

Bollywood actor Salman Khan has been involved in various charities during his career. He has started NGO called Being Human and says after achieving so much in his career it is time to give back through charities. He says he is certainly doing his bit.Salman’s Being Human Foundation sells clothes, merchandises online and in stores in Mumbai, Ludhiana and Ahmedabad. A huge percentage of the money that Salman earns through his films is donated to the foundation.The Dabangg star is now planning to open restaurants and hospitals in the next five to six months under the same initiative. He said, “It is not my business to get into restaurants, clothing etc. As an actor, you only have the habit of getting things most of the times. But there is always time to give back to the society and I am doing my bit.”The 47-year-old actor also added that a certain amount from Being Human also takes care of industry people like workers and technicians. “Friends from the film industry do help whenever they can. But I am not good at asking money. You ask and keep asking for money and those people run away from you, and you lose friends. If you like any of things that are available at our stores come and pick it up. A percentage from this goes back into the charity, so you are doing charity.” he explained.Salman, who endorse Suzuki Motorcycle in India, also joins his foundation Being Human to promote their new vehicle Suzuki Access. After winning million fans as the protagonist, Maanvi, in Star Plus’ hit show Ek Hazaaro Mein Meri Behena Hai, the pretty and vivacious Niaa Sharma went missing from the screen.And now, she is coming back with a new show. She will anchor the finale episode of MTV Webbed, being produced by Lost Boy Productions and Balaji Telefilms. It is based on cyber crime and the final episode will air on 15 December 2013. Actors like Veebha Anand, Vrinda Dawda and Chestha Bhagat will be seen in the finale episode.Confirming the report, Niaa said, “Yes, I have already shot for the final episode and it was super fun shooting after a while now. I got opportunity to showcase my hosting skills after a long time. I did anchor a bit during my school days. In daily soaps, you have to enact a character but here I have to be myself. I always wanted to be a part of a youth show and I am happy to host MTV Webbed.”Talking about anchoring whether she would like to do more in the same field or concentrate more on acting, Niaa said, “Yes, I would love to. But according to me, hosting business is male dominated in Indian television. The way men can mimic or crack any kind of joke, it connects with viewers. However, the gorgeous actress says she does not regret being unable to make her debut in English film world.“I don't regret it. I had to work out things for Ram Leela here, I couldn't have left the process mid way, and I had given my commitment here first. Looking at the way the film Ram Leela has got response, I feel good as my hard work has paid off,” shares the long less.Deepika, 27, make her plans clear that she is still open to doing films whenever the right offer comes up. “I would love to do a Hollywood film. After a long time, singer Sonu Nigam has composed music of any film album, and it is Sooper Se Ooper. However, as per the latest development, he is unhappy with the makers of the film, as he claims that Reliance Entertainment, the producers of the film, which releases on October 25, has not yet released its music."This is deliberate sabotage. No promotion, no publicity, they have not even given a letter of consent to T-Series so they can start playing the music on TV channels. I am furious with this step motherly treatment," said Nigam, while speaking to the sources. It is learnt that with the film, Sonu has collaborated with Bickram Ghosh, the classical and neo-fusion musician, for the first time. When sources got in touch with CEO of Reliance Entertainment, Sanjeev Lamba, he said, "All partners are meeting tomorrow to discuss the film's release. Till we agree on firm plans, it's premature to comment on this." Meanwhile, sources from T-Series, who have the music rights for the movie, said, "We are doing our bit and we have already started playing the film's music on our YouTube channel."We hope the proper steps would be taken!

At the moment B-town actor Sanjay Dutt is enjoying his time with family as he is on furlough for 14 days from Yerwada Central Prison. However, it is learnt that due to health reasons he is seeking an extension of 14 more days.He has already written an application and the decision would be out today and it will be taken by the Mumbai police, a senior officer from the prison department said. For those unaware, Dutt is facing 42-month sentence under the Arms Act in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.However, he came out of prison on furlough by the state prisons department on October 1. Now his leave period ends on October 15, and he is expected to surrender on October 16 as furlough excludes the period of travel.Meanwhile, not only Dutt, but every prisoner has the right to seek extension of leave for two weeks, however, one must mention ailment reason in the application, as only then will it be considered a police report is sought afresh. Also going by the manual, only one extension can be granted. Sources from Yerwada jail said that they have received the actor’s application. "Dutt has also attached medical certificates with the application. We have asked for a report from police. We expect it by Monday. We will decide after we get it," the officer said.Let’s wait for the decision to come out today!
