Megastar Amitabh Bachchan must be very proud of his feat as he went on to receive the Hridaynath Mangeshkar award for the third time for his contribution to the film industry. It is learnt that the prestigious award was set to be presented to Big B by great singer Lata Mangeshkar, however, she failed to make it to the event due to health issues, and hence filmmaker Subhash Ghai did the honours. "I got everything in life from Mumbai, my success, my stardom, my wife, my children and now even grandchildren. I am truly proud to be a Mumbaikar as the city has given me the most," Bachchan said after receiving the award. Also, he went on to appreciate Lata Mangeshkar at the ceremony and also promised that next time if he wins the award, he will speak in her mother tongue, which happens to be Marathi. "Lataji has been exceptionally kind to us even in past when she sang for Jaya. Sadly she couldn't make it to today's function due to her illness, yet she apologized which is too humble on her part and status. I am truly honoured by this award," he said. Keep winning, Big B!

Veteran actress Madhoo, who is eyeing to make comeback in Bollywood films, says she would like to do work that has been done by actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor. She is looking to take up challenging work.She is known for her work in films like Roja, Diljale and Phool Aur Kaante. Madhoo has already started working down South."My south films have started releasing. One film released last month and did 50 days run, so I believe it's a hit. I have signed a couple of films and will start shooting soon. I have started acting again and I am enjoying that. Hopefully I will do a Hindi film soon, waiting for right movie to come to me," said Madhoo. The actress would love to take up interesting film offers and wishes that filmmakers approach her with variety of scripts. "I don't want to say things and limit myself as an actress. I am at a juncture in my life where I can explore and do many different things. I would want producers and creative people to think of something really challenging and wonderful for me as an actress," Madhoo said."When you are younger and playing a heroine, at that time things are pretty similar - like falling in love with the hero and getting married in the end. But now the movies and characterization are different. I can do many more things than I did earlier in my life. It is like Chintuji Amitji, like they are doing fantastic roles now. Since past few days megastar Amitabh Bachchan has not been keeping well, however, if believe the old chap, there is nothing much to worry about as the work continues, and he is thankful to his well-wishers for their concern towards his health.He assured his enthusiasts on Saturday that he is improving by posting on his blog about his recent work.  "Concern after my health has reached an unjustified proportion, undeservingly. More has been attributed to it than was factually correct," Big B wrote on his blog."I am getting better by the day... But your concern is legitimate, and I do appreciate your fond get wells," he wrote. Earlier on October 14, he made his fans know that he was down with fever and stomach infection. However, on Oct 17, he returned to his work, shooting for Kaun Banega Crorepati."Work continues... So did an ad shoot for a client (on Saturday) and had a surprise visit by Priyanka Chopra who was shooting next door... looking stunning as ever! And when that was over, by 9 drove off to receive a youth encouragement award ceremony by the Society Magazine," he further wrote in his post.Big B was felicitated with the award at the Society Young Achievers Awards 2013, organised by Society magazine.

Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee, last seen in Satyagraha alongside Amitabh Bachchan and others, says he wants to reside in Delhi when he gets free from Mumbai or when he will achieve a certain position in his career. He also says that he has a special connection from Delhi as his family and friends are living in the capital.Manoj Bajpayee recently visited Delhi for a film’s shooting there he shared his desire to shift to Delhi. “Dilli se kaafi judi hui hain. Yahaan kaafi dost rehte hain, aur family bhi yahin hai. I am thinking of shifting to Delhi,” said the actor.Does it mean he’ll leave Mumbai soon? When sources asked the same that when he will be making the move, he said, “When I feel that I have reached a certain level in my career and my directors and producers will not mind calling me from Delhi to Mumbai, I will shift here. The thought of shifting to Delhi always comes to my mind. It is a thought that comes to mind almost daily. I feel that working from Delhi will make life easier for me.”Meanwhile Manoj is signed to do the voiceovers for the upcoming Mahabharat animated 3D mythological drama. He will dub for Yudishtir’s character in the animated story.

Veteran actress Shabana Azmi and her work would be honored at prestigious River To River film festival in Florence on November 22, 2013. She will be bestowed by Pegasus of the Region Tuscany Award by Cristina Scaletti, Tuscany's regional councilor of culture at the opening day of the fest.Other personalities and their films like Shyam Benegal’s Ankur, Mahesh Bhatt’s Arth, Vinay Shukla’s Godmother and Deepa Mehta’s Fire will also screen. Last year the River To River festival held a retrospective of Amitabh Bachchan's films.The 63-year-old actress said the Pegasus honour is big because when a state recognizes you, it's very heartening. “I'm honoured and humbled and grateful to the writers and directors who cast me in challenging roles. The Pegasus honour is big because when a state recognises you, it's very heartening.”As per the sources, “Encomiums and Shabana are good friends. In her career of 41 years she has collected awards, both National and popular, by the dozen and has made her presence felt at various film festivals.  Shabana has had many retrospective, such as the one at the New York Film Festival where she was the first actor ever to be thus honoured as till then they did retros only of directors.”Shabana Azami was also honored at Cinematheque in Paris, at the British Film Institute London, Avignon, and Winnipeg, Toronto and in Canada.

Megastar Shah Rukh Khan was recently invited to the 19th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF), where he said that he is looking forward to take Bengali lessons from actress-politician Jaya Bachchan, as he wants to be a true Bengali."Thank you Kolkata for adopting me and giving me the opportunity to be here. I have been coming here for the last three years and I promise you next time I am here I will speak in Bengali so Jaya aunty feels I am truly, truly from Kolkata then. I will come to you and learn from you. So next time when you stand on stage I will be a true Bengali and welcome everyone," said the actor at the event. One may recall that during the inaugural ceremony Jaya Bachchan had said that her hubby Amitabh Bachchan, SRK, and Kamal Haasan are non-real Bengalis. For those unaware, SRK is also the brand ambassador of West Bengal, and he hoped that such festival assist in giving a boost to Indian films."Festivals like this one express collective happiness over life, I think. I hope creative interactions of this scale help Indian films reach the height that great filmmakers present tonight, and those who passed away, like the wonderful Rituparno, dreamt of for Indian film," Khan added.

Once Amitabh Bachchan said in a statement that people in filmdom used to criticise him in his initial stage because of his giraffe length height, but instead of getting disappointed from the comments he fought with the community and proved his mettle to the entire industry.Something similar has experienced by Bollywood actress Nimrat Kaur, who says when she landed in tinsel town, people had different opinions about her look. She had an illiberal experience when a filmmaker advised her to go for a plastic surgery. She said, “When I came into the industry, people had different opinions about how I look. Some told me I was too pretty, others said I wasn't fair enough or tall enough. Nearly seven years ago, I was even advised by a filmmaker to consider plastic surgery. Soon, I stopped thinking about what works.”The actress, who stars in much acclaimed film The Lunchbox, has been now praised for her looks and performance by audience and critics as well. About the success she said, “I am happy with the kind of launch I have got. It is a very exciting time for actors as roles that can surprise them are being written. This was not the case 15 years ago. A film like The Dirty Picture would not have been possible then. Also we, including the audience, are more exposed to world cinema these days. Its effect has seeped into the industry. Filmmakers today have a wider vocabulary.”Way to girl!

King Khan Shah Rukh Khan is under the influence of weather change. He is suffering from fever and is said to be resting at home and watching his movies on television. Recently, Amitabh Bachchan was not keeping well too due to the change of weather.Shahrukh Khan gets emotional on watching his movies on TV and tweeted his presence state of mind, "My life is in films not years". Seems like landmark for one or other film of mine. Don yesterday (Saturday), Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge today (Sunday). My life is in films not years... Wow. Been under the weather. Will spend tonight watching `Chennai Express` on Zee TV. I am sure will bring some taste to my bland chicken soup." Shah Rukh tweeted Sunday.Shahrukh’s next will be Farah Khan’s Happy New Year and he will team up Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan and Boman Irani in the film.
