Information about the upcoming conference on networked learning in higher education and lifelong learning

Group Works ("a pattern language for bringing life to meetings and other gatherings") has created a deck of cards, where each of the 91 cards describes one "theme" [my term] that they feel makes up the pattern language.

Scientists have discovered proof that the evolution of intelligence and larger brain sizes can be driven by cooperation and teamwork, shedding new light on the origins of what it means to be human. The study appears online in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B and was led by scientists at Trinity College Dublin: PhD student, Luke McNally and Assistant Professor Dr Andrew Jackson at the School of Natural Sciences in collaboration with Dr Sam Brown of the University of Edinburgh.

Amazon reviews were mixed, with many in the academic community (especially anthropologists) critical of Nathan's going "under cover," rather than more explicit observation, as an anthropologist might.

Collected and hosted by Cook Counseling Center at Virginia Tech, this web page offers study skills resources for students, with a focus on time management, but also looking at test taking, reading comprehension in textbooks, and how to improve concentration.

Faculty might find resources here to share with students or integrate into curriculum.
