From the LOC their information and primary sources on the Seneca Falls Convention.  In addition to the manuscript, it also has additional views about the convention from other sources of the time.  This might be good to use to have students compare the viewpoints of the time.

Primary Source Document of the Magna Carta is a good document to compare with the Declaration of Independence.  

I suspect elementary kids would have trouble with this. You might show them the actual wording but give them a masterfully watered down version.

This primary source document inlcudes key sources on the Constitutional government and an introduction that highlights key themes. Included are; The American Founding, Constitutional Government, Progressivism and Liberalism and Conservatism.

I really enjoy starting each unit I do with a combination of texts and images, mainly primary sources, for students to observe and start to form impressions and questions. These LOC primary source sets are great for this!

This primary source document on the 15h Amendment speaks volumes when it states "Although ratified on February 3, 1870, the promise of the 15th Amendment would not be fully realized for almost a century. There are Historical Collection links as well.

What doesn't the Standford History Education Group have on their site? The site offers everything from lesson plans, to primary source materials, to pedagogical approaches to teaching history, to assessment materials. This site has especially great tools for getting students to think like historians!

I love the section of "reading like A Historian".

This is the National Archives' "Charters of Freedom" website. In addition to having full transcriptions of the DOI, Constitution, and Bill of Rights, there are links to many ancillary materials as well. Included in the site are lesson suggestions, other primary source materials, and scholarly essays about the legacy of our Founding Documents.

This is a link to the Bill of Rights Institute's page concerning the Equal Protection clause of the 14th Amendment. The page includes links to primary source materials and summaries related to important 14th Amendment precedents (Plessy, Brown, Korematsu, Loving, Bakke, etc).

A huge resource of various primary sources from 500 BC to 1800 AD

A massive collection of literature and documents which were relevant to the colonists lives in America. Beginning in 500 B.C. - 500 A.D. through 1700-1800s. So for those Early American History lovers this is a good one. It also includes military documents.

Great lesson on the Declaration of Independence.  It includes 8 activities that allow students to look at historical connections and primary sources.

Wow. I came across the site when I clicked on a link in the CUNY website, and I was blown away. I am amazed that I haven't come across this website before (I bet most of you have). It's got a plethora of primary sources on revolutionary and post-revolutionary America, as well as many other eras throughout American history. It also has teaching tools and lesson plans. I think that what I like the most about it is how well organized it seems to be. I will definitely be using this!

Indeed, bookmark this site because it has just about anything you might want. It, and the archives, are the staples for US history teachers.

This link has the famous "remember the ladies" exchange between John Adams and Abigail and also has a letter that Adams wrote justifying the limitation of voting rights to property-holding men, which was brought to mind by this week's topic

Provides a lengthy background on history of the Women's Suffrage Movement, but I particularly like the primary source documents at the end which include excerpts from an assortment of players in the movement in the early 1900's.

I came across this lesson plan through a CUNY link in the optional reading for Session 5. I think it combines excellent primary sources (e.g., James Madison's notes regarding how to establish an electoral process) with incredibly creative activities to help students understand the advantages and disadvantages of the electoral college. I'm excited to try this out with my class this year!

I found this link based off of my previous link of Washington's letter to the Jews of Newport. This is a collection of 50 critical primary sources that trace America's growth from the Declaration through the 1980s. It's interesting to see their choices of documents to include, and the story it tells of American history.

This site is all annotated primary documents from around the world. There are some really interesting things to explore. It would be a fun way to introduce students to primary sources. It also might provide some interesting things to show students to enhance your teaching.

The history coordinator for Newton (Lucia Sullivan) emailed this article to us, and I wanted to share it here with all of you. It's a great perspective on how we, as historians, must work hard to present as essays as history teachers. He talks about how to frame content, essays, and primary source evidence in a meaningful way that is accessible for all students. Given the topics brought up by this course, it seemed fairly germane.
