This is a great site that offers kid-firendly information about voting and voting rights.  It is interactive with timelines, history, ways to get involved and personal stories.

Declaration of Independence - History.com Interactive Maps, Timelines & Games - 2 views

This is an Interesting, but busy graphic about the 4th of July past and present. It provides interesting statistics and information about the day in 1776 and also modern traditions and interpretations. I think this graphic could be great for a small discussion about the most American of holidays.

Constitution USA with Peter Sagal | PBS - 3 views

Tons of good things on this site - videos about government (which I find really hard to locate), interactive games, readings and information about federalism, rights and equality.  There are a lot of resources here, including an entire section for teachers.  I think it is mostly geared towards middle and high school teachers.

How a Bill Becomes a Law - 2 views

  •
Elementary students can use this website to understand how a bill becomes a law. The process is broken down in child friendly language and there is a great interactive glossary. Students can hover the mouse over a word and the definition will pop up.

Constitution Day Lesson Plans - 2 views

  •
These created lessons span K-12. They are all slideshow based and text heavy, but some of the interactives and the links are neat. They could be helpful in developing an introduction to a constitution unit.

The First Thanksgiving Student Activities for Grades PreK-12 | Scholastic.com - 0 views

  •
Although there are no primary docs, this site is still a helpful resource for elementary students (especially ELLs) who have little or no background knowledge about the first Thanksgiving, the Pilgrims and Native Americans. There are interactive activities as well as audio and video clips (thanks to Plimoth Plantation) on the Mayflower voyage, daily life in the New World and the first Thanksgiving.

Government Website for Kids - 1 views

  •
Designed for 4th through 12th grade, has pre quizzes, an interactive tour and post quizzes. Solid explanations of processes, understandable by kids around middle school age and up, not dumbed down though. I can see having this as a center-type activity.
  •
VERY useful for intermediate and middle. Definitely a keeper!
