This is a link to the Bill of Rights Institute's page concerning the Equal Protection clause of the 14th Amendment. The page includes links to primary source materials and summaries related to important 14th Amendment precedents (Plessy, Brown, Korematsu, Loving, Bakke, etc).

Tons of good things on this site - videos about government (which I find really hard to locate), interactive games, readings and information about federalism, rights and equality.  There are a lot of resources here, including an entire section for teachers.  I think it is mostly geared towards middle and high school teachers.

The 14th Amendment granted citizenship and equal civil and legal rights to African-Americans and slaves who had been emancipated after the American Civil War. This simple overview of the 14th Amendment and Brown vs Board of Education would be appropriate for elementary students. It does have short advertisements.

Companion Guide to the HBO Documentary, "The Loving Story" which tells the story of how the Supreme Court banned all race based restrictions on marriage in 1967. This could be a way to get into marriage equality or basic civil rights.

This is a great site on the French Revolution that would be useful for anyone who wants to have students look at documents comparing the American Revolution to the French Revolution. There are things there like Olympia De Gouges' Declaration of the Rights of Women that are great for that kind of activity

Lesson incorporating the letters between Banneker and Jefferson to examine the contradictions between the principles in the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights, as related to slavery.
