Exploring the mechanisms for assuring quality of e-learning courses in UK higher educat... - 0 views

  • This growing demand for higher education placed institutions in a new scenario where they needed to respond creatively to the needs of the new student body, within the constraints of limited funding, in order to be able to succeed.
  • In the UK it has been estimated that in 1999 there were more than 70 dual mode higher education institutions (Weyers, 2000).
  • Each course had been under quality assurance procedures and was part of the academic offer of a dual mode higher education institution in the UK.

  • In some way it appears that online and mixed mode courses tended to become isolated from the rest of the institutional processes in place, unless there was a clear and strong leadership that would align them with these processes. This isolation was made evident in the way the institution-wide quality assurance mechanisms allowed these courses to carry on their business on their own, sometimes without significant oversight, as they had not set up any particular requirements for online

  •
EVE is a web-based platform for disseminating information on projects - including results - relating to activities supported by the Directorate-General for Education and Culture (DG EAC). Making this information readily accessible is important - to give the projects greater visibility and increasing their practical impact. EVE covers all the areas DG EAC deals with - education and lifelong learning, culture, youth, citizenship, multilingualism and sport.

  • There were no significant differences between examination marks in the new course with e-learning and the previous year without e-learning.
  • This mode of e-learning used to support face-to-face learning activities in the laboratory can be adapted for other disciplines and may assist students in developing a greater appreciation and a deeper approach for learning from their practical class experiences.

Alguns estudos na area da fisiologia parecem suportar a ideia de que a abordagem de e-learning ou blended learning podera ter sucesso na aprendizagem dos alunos. Parece-me muito interessante

  • A reduction in the traffic volumes on a road will often lead to increases in speed because the remaining vehicles can drive more freely, unless measures are taken to keep the speed down
