Oregon Scientific announces MEEP! Android tablet for Kids, Wile E's ears prick up - 0 views

  •
This article was written for the parents of young children. i thought that what they were advertising was very cool and practical. This new table is just the right size for young children and it's much more durable than a regular tablet if it were to be dropped on the floor not much harm would be done. The kids growing up in this time period are surrounded by technology and they'll want one of their own. Parents are able to monitor the websites their child goes on and their child can learn on it by playing educational games. i'm sure we'll be seeing a lot of these in the near future.

I thInk thIs Is a great Idea to do. Zamzar makes It much easIer fro us now to read/see thIngs that are emaIled to us. It's also more reasonable because almost everyone has smart phones nowadays and If you wanted to read an emaIl on your phone but It needed convertIng you could just use Zamzar. You wouldn't have to waIt untIl you were able to go home and use your laptop. The only downfall Is that you need a paId account on Zamzar If you wanted to convert more than 1MB of fIles.

Beyond batteries: laptops to be powered by solar power, micro fuel cells - 2 views

  •
This article describes a new innovation in laptop that will catch the attention of many. We are all becoming more conscious of the effect our actions have towards the environment and this advancement will help us be more environmentally friendly. The flexibility of this power source is also a bonus. The only down side to this technology is that it will cost a little more but in the end will we save much more than just a few dollars.
  •
This article is about how many batteries will soon be solar powered and use micro fuel cells. This is an environmentally friendly way to use technology since more and more people are aware of the ecological foot print they have made. Solar power seems to be the better choice because you could use it anywhere as long as there's the sun and it's free. Although there are cons to solar powered technology, you will not be able to use it indoor and/or evening hours. You can use micro fuel cells anytime but, are very pricey. i think this new way of using technology will have a long term effect but it will still benefit us in a positive way.

Facebook Hasn't Ruined Sharing, it's Just Re-Defined it - 0 views

  •
Facebook's new sharing features are "ruining sharing," according to an article by CNET's Molly Wood. in response, Marshall Kirkpatrick argued that Facebook's sharing is badly implemented and flat out "wrong." Both made great points, but ultimately i don't believe that frictionless sharing is a bad concept.

Gadget Keeps Your Paper Planes in the Air-and Lets You Pilot Them - 2 views

  •
This article is about a special designed PAPER airplane set to release in June of this year, called PowerUp 3.0. it is a paper plane that you can fold yourself and can be controlled by an iOS or Android device. The product itself is just a thin metal wire which clips onto the top of the paper plane with a Bluetooth module on one end and a propeller on the other. You just have to throw the paper airplane and once its in the air, you then can control it with your phone. The app is free, and is similar to a flight simulator, in which you can control the plane to go up and down, or left and right by tilting your phone. The paper airplane is crash-proof, and is run by a USB rechargeable battery. it costs $50 and it comes with a spare propeller and rudder. i think this a very creative, and great product because you are taking something basic like a paper airplane, and turning it into an amazing piece of technology, and a magical RC Vehicle.

ebooks now passing books - 0 views

  •
the change is starting, ebook sales are finally passing printed book sales. i don't think that this will affect anyone in the developing world. book collectors can still collect books, but just digitally. the publishing business can still make profit, by selling these books, emagazines are making more sales than printed ones as well. the world is evolving, and the article said that by approximately 2025, printed books will be obsolete, and a new form of getting information will be in effect.

Facebook Wants Your Past, Present, and Future On Open Graphs and Timelines | Webmonkey | Wired.com - 1 views

  •
Suprise suprise, Mark Zuckenberg announced at a confrence on september 23rd, that facebook is once agian, going to change in the nearby future. Soon, we will all get a timeline on our facebook's accounts, showing all of our music we listen to, media we listen into, and lifestyle actions and interactions with their profiles. Personally, i think that facebook needs to stop changing, and leave it the way it is, due to the fact many people are starting to disactivate there accounts, for being so confusing, and also, making it easier to get stalked. Twitters ratings are now growing, because twitter is simply much more simple then facebook.

NASA does twitter give away - 0 views

  •
NASA has set up a cool contest. basically they're giving 150 people who follow them on twitter a chance to be there and see the launch of the Mars Rover, this is a one in a lifetime chance, and if you win then you will be given a tour of the facility, you will get to meet the staff and see the launch from the bunker. However, all expenses are not all paid, because you have to pay for travel and accommodations, but i bet all of the winners are still going to go, because this just doesn't happen everyday.

Though Internet Explorer Is stIll reIgnIng as the most used browser. There Is one other, though, that may challenge It's reIgn: Chrome. RIght now, Chrome and FIrefox are battlIng for the number two spot. For the longest tIme, FIrefox held that place; now - tImes they-are-a-changIn'. Chrome's usage has grown by 50%, and Is expected to take over second place by ChrIstmas tIme. Not only that, but Internet Explorer Is also expected to fall sometIme soon, though It Is hard to say specIfIcally. Chrome Is doIng well, for the reason specIfIcally that It Is surpassIng all, others, and a fan favorIte, so to speak.

Very true article - 3 views

  •
    Yes, very true indeed!!
  •
okay i have finally gotten to write a description about this :).. anyway... so basically what this article is about is secure internet web servers that use SSL encryption. what this does is make it very hard for hackers, malware, spyware, and all other bad kinds of "wares" out of your computer making it virus free and it doesn't allow ip hackers to watch what you are doing on the internet. The reason for this is mainly to protect bank account numbers, login id's, passwords, credit card information, and even personal information that, if not protected can get your identity stolen. Two big issues that website hosts do not agree with is that SSL (HTTPS secure connection) costs money. it is not that easy to keep a secure server blocking out hundreds of thousands of malware virus', phishing programs, and spyware, while at the same time keeping it free. Also another big problem with this is that it slows down the server. if there are a limited amount of people going on your website (meaning barely into the hundred hits) than you shouldnt have this problem, but for big websites like facebook, that have millions of hits per day, this is a big deal because they want to keep themselves on top of speed and one of the most popular social networking websites out there. basically, to sum everything up, HTTPS servers cost too much money, some websites dont even need them, and they slow down the servers a significant amount.

You just received a detention from your homeroom teacher because you did not finish your homework. The reason? FACEBOOK. Americans are spending too much time on social networks(23%). Allowing us to download the networks onto our phones(smartphones) is part of the reason why it is raising our numbers. But what's sad is that this information is no longer surprising to us. Take a look at what the world is turning into.
