Insert Coin: Berlin Boombox recyclable cardboard stereo (video) -- Engadget - 1 views

  •
The Berlin Boombox is a stereo for any type of device that has a headphone jack. It is entirely made out of cardboard and it is easy to construct. The guy who came up with this was inspired by the boomboxes from the 1980s, he was looking for an appealing and affordable speakers but couldn't find any so he came up with his own. I think this is pretty cool but the only thing that concerns me is the quality of the sound, because it is cheap and the speakers are probably not that good either, the quality of the sound might not be as good as regular speakers.

Remote-Controlled Drug Device Could Deliver Chemo at Home - 0 views

  •
This article is about a new device that could help avoid the usual visits to the doctor for injected medicines. It is done by implanting a microchip inside the patient's abdominal. Then the physician administers the drug by remotely pumping the meds into their system. So basically, the microchip delivers you the meds at the doctor's command. I think this is a good breakthrough in technology and medicine. I mean imagine getting the same medicine that is usually injected to you without the hassle of arranging appointments to the doctor and having to go through the pain of the needle. There is one concern though. What if someone sits on the button by accident or forgets to push the button? But nonethless, I find these device a very great thing to have in the future.

StartNinja Silences Your Mac's Startup Sound with the Flip of a Switch - 0 views

  •
This article is very interesting and informative to people who has mac. Many students bring mac to school for projects and homework and it is embarrassing for many students for their laptop to make sound in the middle of class. Many of them find it difficult to silence up because of its long, drawn out process but with this program called start ninja, it becomes very easy to silence up the mac with just one click. I think this is very helpful because i have this problem too and i bring my laptop often to the library and it is very embarrassing for my laptop to make sound in the middle of silence and it must be very annoying for other people around me too.   This program is free for any people who has mac and this is great for many people who can't afford to buy program.

The Social Media Salary Guide [INFOGRAPHIC] - 1 views

  •
This article talks about a lot of jobs related to social networking and amount of salary they are paid every year. This shows the social impact of social networking on our society because social networking is a big part of our society that there are so many jobs that deal with that. In the past, there were barely any jobs related to social networking. There is a pie graph that shows all the different jobs related to social networks and how much they are paid in each province in U.S. I thinks this would be a great help to teenagers who are interested in the social network systems because now they can look for careers that they might find interesting and work toward to achieve it because not many people know about the jobs that deals with social networking and they have hard time looking for something they can do but this article could help them.

The U.S calculated that Facebook got $653.7 million in only 12 months! That's only for the US imagine how much profit they are getting from the other countries!

THIS DOES NOT RELATE TO THIS COURSE, BUT SINCE WE ALL LIKE FOOD, YOU WILL LIKE THIS. Because when you make grill cheese sandwiches, it always give off that smell no one likes and there's pans to wash and you know we're all so lazy to do that. So here is the simple thing to do, FLIP YOUR TOASTER ON IT'S SIDE! just put the bread in and put the cheese on top of the bread, and THERE YOU GO. i couldn't find ANYTHING. So this caught my eye, and i was like "wow."

BrowserQuest Is Pure HTML5 Gaming Goodness | Webmonkey | Wired.com - 0 views

  •
This game is called BrowserQuest, which is written in fully HTML5 pages. It uses CSS,HTML5 and Javascript to fully make this game. Now, software companies do not need to worry about using Flash, and can make complex games for all devices. It is a 16-bit-style and this game can work on chrome, firefox, safari etc. This game is said to be very addicting with secret items hidden in the worlds. This relates to the course because we are currently working with HTML pages and we learn how to use them. I find it fascinating that they can use these pages to make fun-filled games for everyone. As well, they need to program these pages to make them work on the web.

Another feature is by touching the stores name it show tweets from each store that promote their sales. They will be charging people to have these privileges. Internet Explorer: The Browser You Love to Hate | Webmonkey | Wired.com - 0 views

  •
This article explains how Microsoft is attempting to attract users to the browser IE9 (internet explorer 9) by mocking the previous versions of IE. I think that if they must promote any of the browsers they might as well promote the latest and most updated version of it. Since internet explorer has another browser that has more features and is more useful than IE9 they should focus on attracting users to that browser. Also, IE10 has features that can compete with google chrome, firefox, and safari, whereas IE9 does not. In my opinion I find this is a very poor marketing strategy on Microsoft's part and it will not get them any further in terms of higher user rates for internet explorer.

Google Glasses First Look: Would You Wear These Augmented Reality Specs? - 0 views

  •
This article explains the latest in Google's innovations - augmented reality glasses. These glasses allow the user to receive notifications from their phone that will help will everyday struggles such as knowing the weather or the status of highway traffic. I think these glasses are extremely pointless unless they offer other features. I find it easier to check my phone rather than wear futuristic -like glasses the whole day just to inform me of quick notifications. However I am still looking forward to see what other features these glasses will offer and if the look of these glasses will change (hopefully they will look better than these prototypes).

How to Make Google Music Your Secondary Media Player (and Why You Should) - 0 views

  •
this is where your 100 word descriiption.  This is great!!!
  •
I find this article interesting, it shows how we could put music to your secondary media player. It's amazing how it can become your best way to back up and access your music from where ever. It's pretty cool that Google is trying their best to improve their site, and Google is taking time to improve their site. Since it's one of the best music web apps, i can get to sync my music library and it can connect to my mobile, and also it's for free.
  •
Google Music is states only for now, though. But an easy way to get around it is to either use a web proxy (hidemyass.com) or something like hotspot shield, sign into your google account and go to music.google.com. Turns out you only need to sign into Google Music once with a US IP address to be let in forever. So once you do that you can close the proxy and you'll be able to use it normally.

Voice-Controlled Camera Concept Lets You Say When to Take the Shot - 0 views

  •
This voice-controlled camera is useful for those people who have problems taking pictures, like myself. I find that it's hard to make a mistake by telling the camera to take the shot. This camera created by Apple is high-tech and a newly programmed device that will help benefit others. The simplicity of this new device is fantastic in my opinion. Also, the fact that the camera does not pick up unwanted background sounds is fortunate because you'll finally be able to hear the audio clearly.

A USB Hub That Doesn't Care Which Way You Stick It In - 2 views

  •
My life is made easier! This new USB hub lets you insert the USB from both sides.  I would definitely use this. I always put the USB the wrong way and always have to flip it over. I think many people would find this useful, and would willingly spend $23 dollars for it. And it comes is four stylish colours!
  •
I'm pretty sure that in the total time I spent flipping USBs over, I could have cured cancer.

The Post-Office Generation | TechCrunch - 0 views

  •
This article explains the effects of the ever changing world of technology and how it effects even the most fundamental of programs: Microsoft Office. New advances in technology cause Microsoft Office to slowly become irrelvant and sooner or later, obsolete. I think that this change will not happen quickly but it will definitely happen. I find it unfortunate that a program that has been very useful over the years can be easily replaced by various apps. I think I will still use Microsoft Office because the Word, Powerpoint, and EXcel options of Micrsoft Office will still be more convient for me than several different apps.

'This Message Will Self-Destruct': One Shar.es Erases Data After Transmission - 0 views

  •
In this article we learn about a new site where it will destruct your email once the recipient has read it. This is used for safety purposes. However I would not use this. I find it isn't very useful when you have to refer back to the email for information. This is a good idea for people who are concerned about others reading their private emails and might not have enough space in their inboxes.

Perform Nearly Any Windows Task with One Keystroke - 0 views

  •
This article represents a tool called the AutoHotkey. This is a downloadable program that will help you create shortcuts for system tasks in Windows. This tool can assign hotkeys such as shutting down or restarting your computer, adjusting volume, and opening/closing the CD drive, etc. I find this very convenient for people who use their computers everyday because it arranges a more faster and easier use for system task. It is also very useful for people who are lazy and don't want press buttons on certain areas of the computer or monitor.

An iPhone Case For Fingerprint Fighters - 0 views

  •
This changes everything. Now, instead of having to find a clean cloth or using your own shirt to clean your dirty iPhone's screen, you now have a portable microfibre cloth that you can use anywhere, anytime. The case is called "WipeCoin iPhone Case". I think this is a useful case to have because for me, most of the time, my iPhone's screen gets sticky and dusty after using it all day. So personally, I think this is a case worth buying.
