In a rage to take revenge, eight workers of Trinamool Congress Party allegedly gangraped two women in Howrah district. A 27-year-old married woman and her 43-year-old mother-in-law were gangraped on Tuesday night at Amta's Muktichowk area in Howrah, neighbouring Kolkata.

At least twelve people were shot dead and several others injured when a longtime municipal employee in Virginia Beach, US opened fire indiscriminately at co-workers in a public works building. However, the attacker was killed in a gunfight with police. Virginia Beach Mayor Bobby Dyer said, "This is the most devastating day in the history of Virginia Beach. People involved friends, co-workers, neighbors, colleagues."

A Mangaluru court Thursday sentenced serial killer 'Cyanide' Mohan Kumar for the rape and murder of an Anganwadi worker from Bantwal in 2005. VI Additional District and Sessions Judge Sayeedunnisa, who convicted Kumar for raping and murdering the woman in Bengaluru, awarded the death sentence.
