KEARNEY This chapter surveys the intellectual evolution of multicultural education and analyzes it within a naturalistic framework for understanding the cultural differences and the dynamics of culture contact in an increasingly diverse society.

As the population of the United States becomes more diverse and globally more interdependent, it is critical that universities prepare students to become engaged multicultural global citizens and leaders. Whether it's preparing students on essential job skills, the capabilities of citizenship, or the moral imperatives of the 21st century, we all agree on the importance of understanding differences.

In today's society, there are many reasons that teachers and students and other educators need to embrace multicultural education. Education shouldn't be complete without it especially since it teaches us valuable life skills it's important for teachers to research cultures extremely thoroughly before teaching their students about them.

A teaching case study is defined as a narrative that describes a specific event within the school environment that allows professionals to investigate critical issues that impact the learning of students. Creating a case study can be seen as a form of professional development, educators learning from real examples.

The honeymoon with MOOCs is over. The reality check has finally arrived which was inevitable. MOOCs will not solve all the woes of higher education. It is unfortunate it had to be a class on how to design an online course; it was the Fundamentals of Online Education: Planning and Application [FOE] offered through Coursera that brought things to a screeching halt. But this experience can provide an opportunity for institutions to re-focus-identify the role and purpose of MOOCs and move forward with a thoughtful, purposeful strategy.
