The encyclopedia is a great place to start when trying to gain more knowledge about anything. The description they give about postimpressionism is both helpful and informative. This artistic style was used by Van Gogh. The movement took place during the last two decades of the 19th century.

It talks about how his tragic life lead to very successful pieces of art. His personality and health problems made it hard for him to really be a part of society. After he figured out preaching was not the right profession, he turned to painting. Van Gogh had a strong passion for painting although he was barely recognized in his lifetime for his beautiful art work. His closest friend in life was his brother, Theo. He wrote Theo quite frequently dealing with his aspirations and conflicts. In the end Theo got married and Van Gogh committed suicide.

Due to a direct expression of nonverbal meaning. The article takes a look at his articulation of pattern through form, plus a close reading of the letters he wrote about the difficulties he encountered because of his unique vision. It concludes that Van Gogh's unique and personal perceptual style served his developmental needs. While also contributing to both his mental instability and his artistic greatness.

Van Gogh is an impressionist and has the talent of using line and shapes in order to evoke an emotional response. Van Gogh was interested in ideas rather than images, which inspired many of his pieces of work. The history of his life is shown and describes who he is and his work. In the beginning of his life Gogh did not know he wanted to be an artist, but later traveled and studied art.

Finally the article tells abut his close relationship with brother Theo and some of the psychological problems he faced.

These materials were what brought about the hidden image. The article provides a picture of the painting and the hidden picture.

The viewpoint is that through Van Gogh's letters it is easy to see that he was trained to be creative. The article also outlines Van Gogh's life and creativity. Van Gogh's artwork is very creative, but in some of his works it is east to see where he repeats his creativity. Overall this article gives a full scope of everything Van Gogh with a definite emphasis on his artwork and creativity.

However, through his work he also inspired and influenced those same painters who inspired him to start. Overall, this article provides a strong base on why Van Gogh got started and what his work meant to other people. However, without those artists before him he would have never found his artistic style.

His drawings are found to have many different styles. Van Gogh uses the reed pen in a lot of his drawings to create these styles. The reed pen allows him to to draw staccato lines, dots, hooks, crochets and bars to represent perceptions of light and color. The landscape in his drawings that he drew towards the end of his life showed a lot of ferocity which the article examines.

Also provided is a make-up of paintings based on photos of artworks that he did. Another piece of information provided is the way in which Van Gogh's art can be viewed. Certain vantage points of his artwork provided different emotions and images which is why his art is so intriguing.
