I think the boy is hurt because he was stood up, and he is just taking it all out on himself, he things he just isn't good enough, sort of like he had the confidence on his way to araby and lost it after she stood him up like that, and just doesn't understand what he did wrong, rather then just not over thinking it and understanding that its not always a personal reflection of ones self, sometimes things just don't go the way we want them to.

I want to say that his world view that no matter who you are, what your luck is, what you have down in life, that the world is very unpredictable and its a lot like a board game of chance, you can have the best odds in the game, but if it is your time to lose, you lose, theres know way around it, with no amount of skill or anything.

It was my first day of kindergarden and up until this point whenever i saw a girl i only could think about the cooties the had, since that is how it had been taught to me. As i walked in from recess i remember seeing a pair of blue eyes as deep as the sea, and untouched beach blonde hair. I hadn't experienced anything like the butterflies i immediately received from just being in her presence, although i can't remember her name years later, i will never forget the way i got lost in her eyes and the feeling in my gut.

It shows that the family will always live up to each part of its coat of arms, its like a code for them to live by, and they prove that they will always follow thru with their family's code.

I believe he did this to impress the girls and be a hero to them silently. His actions probably just built up of not wanting to end up like the elders from the store, but it was mostly impulse for quitting on the spot after the girls were disrespected by the manager in front of sammy.
