I thought this little blog was very useful for understanding rule of thirds as it applies to photography. I was already familiar with the rule from my photography class in high school and I find it is easier to understand in that context as opposed to the digital drawing arena. Basically, because I understand it in the photography context, it allows me to better understand it the way it has been presented in the text.

Remediation is used in music to refashion live versions of media. The live version is recreated and multiplied, creating a studio and synthesized final version of the product.

This website provided a great run down on the book Remediation and the theory behind it. It was a great supplement to the reading and really helped me further my understanding of it. Remediation is something that is constantly going on around us, and is very important to understand. It is the driving force for the progress of our media.

A lengthy discussion of new media, how it's defined, and its implications.

Chapter 1 of Design Fundamentals is all about trying to define new media. This site's main function is to help people have a better understanding concerning communications throughout the internet. New media is constantly being redefined because technology and forms of communication through technology are constantly evolving and developing. This site helped me not only understand better what is considered to be new media today, but can help me in the future as new media evolves and the definition changes.

This video consisted of many stats about how quickly new media has been evolving and expanding. I love this statistics format because it provides amazing facts that don't take much time for me to read and comprehend. This helped me to better understand where technology was, is, and where it's going. This also helped me understand some more facts about new media while keeping my full attention

there are no easy rules for fair use - if you want to take advantage of its flexibility, you have to understand its complexities!

This video on you tube gives a couple of explanations and examples of positive and negative space. It helped me better understand the material because I was able to see the examples and hear the voiceover explain what the negative and positive space is.

This website gives some tips on what designer needs to know about typography and how to correctly use it in a design. It tells you to read your design first to make sure that you understand it. If you are having trouble, then of course someone else will as well. It also tells you to keep titles big that way people can identify what the title is. This website helped me to better understand the definitions of immediacy, hypermedia, and remediation. It sort of broke down the terms a little bit better than in the reading for me.

This is an article discussing the idea of remediation and the two concepts of remediation. It is an easy explanation of the excerpt from the book that we had to read.

This site has a really good diagram of the difference between immediacy and hypermediacy. One difference is that immediacy is like a virtual reality while hypermediacy is like tv news reports

I know we are only suppose to push one to the class but i also came across this online slide show from slideshare that goes into how to do writing proposals and also formal reports. It was very easy to understand and I thought it would be helpful.
