The reason I chose to bookmark this website is because it was written by another student who obviously went through the process of writing instructions. Ms. Wetherinton give states the do's and dont's of writing instructions and she puts in a way that other students can understand. I think that this will help me with project one because this page lays out very important and valid concepts that must be present in order to write effective instructions.

I like this web page because it describes how to write directions from a student stand point. It is obvious she has written directions before. Also, this page is more down to earth and easier to read than some pages. push #2

Instructions to close the gap between pupils' reading and writing.

This is a rather lengthy article, but it provides good insight into why we write instructions and how to effectively do so. I think this article will help me with the project because I like thinking about the cognitive processes behind reading what is writtena nd I hope to incorporate some of the article's information into the project.

I thought this video was neat! It was for some girls class. It talks about all the aspects of contrast that are also gone over in our reading.

Explains what QuarkxPress is, I didn't know what Quark was until after the reading

Just a plan and simple article easy to read and a tool good for first time users introduction to the concept of contrast such as myself.

This is a really really good website that talks about the design element of balance. It not only gives good definitions about the different types of balance, it also provides very good pictures that clearly demonstrate what balance is and how it is used in art as well as graphic design.

This page gives a good definition of the principle of balance and gives good examples.

This site gave some great additional insights into how balance can be used in design. It was nice to get another perspective in addition to the book. It explained it effectively and in simpler terms. Definitely worth the read!

Covers all types of soical media, net education, cybersafety, ecommerce, email, digital video, and gaming. Each area has a list of rules and there are subsets to some areas such as cybersaftey. Easy to read which is good because there is a lot of information

It's not the Robin Williams you were thinking of I was disappointed too but the article is a great reflection of how CRAP design impacts the web.

I decided to share this so everyone could be as disappointed as I was when I found out it was not the Robin Williams I was thinking of. The article has plenty of relevant points though and is worth a read.

Remediation: This article provides an extended definition of remediation in relation to new media. It also explains the double logic of remediation, which consists of American culture's desire to multiply media while erasing all traces of mediation through immediacy.

Thank GOD for wikia and their simple breakdown of remediation / new media. I read this and finally understand what that article was really about! It is very to the point.

This article gives a good overview of what remediation is as it relates to digital media.

In Chapter 2 of "The Computer," Ince describes the Google comparing data with the CDC to track those who are googling symptoms and the spread of illness. I found that idea very interesting and found that tracking information here on the web.

Tile is a small object including an RFID as described in Chapter 3 of "The Computer." The advantages of these devices are easily understood, but privacy could be a concern, as well. As suggested by Ince, many individuals are uncomfortable with their personal locations can be monitored. Tile's ability to send your location to other Tile users could make some uncomfortable with the concept. As someone who misplaces my keys regularly, I am willing to take the privacy risk!

I was very confused by the discussion of binary and memory in chapter 2 of "The Computer." I found this in depth article helpful in understanding the technical language.
