Watching this video, which was linked within the introduction to rhetoric on the Purdue OWL site, helped me become cognizant of the origins of rhetoric and the historical background of the skill. It's a very good primer before diving into the readings.

This you tube video describes the history of the internet. This video shows the interesting development of the internet over the years.

A little documentary that explains some of the things we read about in other articles but includes animations and expounds upon the history of the internet. I enjoyed the visuals with the information.

While reading the first chapter I found it difficult to wrap my head around all of the ideas surrounding raster versus vector images. However, this video gave me a deeper understanding of the important differences between the two and cleared up my confusion.

I struggle with those as well; great use of this assignment to learn more!

A great site that follows the reading of our book and gives descriptions of what shape is with regards to an element of design

We read "The Influencing Machine" this week by the author, Brooke Gladstone. I found this book to be an interesting take on things and wanted to know more about the author. I bookmarked this site because it gives details as well as links to Gladstone's work.

This site gives a great timeline of the history of media. In our readings we read Brooke Gladstone's "The Influencing Machine" where she also gave an interesting account of the history of media.

Here is an article I read. Kind of parallels that of Gladstone's book. Really points to the mess that is becoming of journalism. 

This is a website with examples of what people with normal vision see versus people with colorblindness. I thought it was interesting based on our color readings since there was no mention of it there.

This is a personal application of what we read about in the chapter about Texture. There are many different texture packs used in the game of Minecraft to help the player feel more connected with the world they want to create.

This article was very interesting to read because it talked about sensory association and how it can be used to heal people like in hospitals. Although this article is mostly geared towards interior designers, I feel like designers in new media can also use this concept to make something that help heal someone.

This website provided another perspective on the issue the reading discussed. Is there a solution for inequality?

I thought this was a really cool way to incorporate what we read about this week into the real world and see how it is used in a children's museum to help the kids be more interested in science and things.

This website gave a really good example of immediacy, hypermediacy, and remediation. It was confusing for me to read about the three terms. Seeing the example provided on this website helped me to better understand the three.

This video consisted of many stats about how quickly new media has been evolving and expanding. I love this statistics format because it provides amazing facts that don't take much time for me to read and comprehend. This helped me to better understand where technology was, is, and where it's going. This also helped me understand some more facts about new media while keeping my full attention

After the reading this week, I book marked this site because it describes effective repetition design principles for web designers. I thought not only was this related to our reading but also to the new media concept in the class

This website explains how effective use of repetition can aid a website design. If used properly, repetition can add an element that helps tie the entire design together. Repetition is very useful principle of design that can add a lot to websites.

This blog had many examples of elements of deign, including emphasis which was read about this week
