I bookmarked this site because it gives all the elements of design. It gives definitions and links to examples and resources. I also made this one my favorite because it explains all the elements and not just what we discussed this week as well as it a very easy site to use.

It explains it based on a situation that happened a few years ago when a famous world renowned violinist played for free in a subway station, with all the passersby being unaware that is would usually cost over a hundred dollars to watch him play.

A lengthy discussion of new media, how it's defined, and its implications.

Chapter 1 of Design Fundamentals is all about trying to define new media. This site's main function is to help people have a better understanding concerning communications throughout the internet. New media is constantly being redefined because technology and forms of communication through technology are constantly evolving and developing. This site helped me not only understand better what is considered to be new media today, but can help me in the future as new media evolves and the definition changes.

this website goes over all the elements of design.  Probably the coolest part to me is the amount of repetition they use in each description.

The covers on all magazines follow a type of repetition.  The title is always located at the top and centered.  Then along the left and right of the image there are "top" article names to draw the readers in

This video explains the Five principles of New Media with easy examples. The sound is very annoying so I'd turn the volume all the way down.

Brief overview of how dial-up connections are set up. Yes, we all remember it. Nevertheless, it shows how far technology has come. 

This website has been a great help to me. I am pretty learned in what the internet is all about and how to use it, but it is always very interesting to form knowledge of how exactly it was developed and put to use.

While reading the first chapter I found it difficult to wrap my head around all of the ideas surrounding raster versus vector images. However, this video gave me a deeper understanding of the important differences between the two and cleared up my confusion.

I struggle with those as well; great use of this assignment to learn more!

An site that discusses all of the importance of color when using it in design. I found this to be quite helpful because it goes more in depth about the symbolism and the science of how color has been used.
