Dan Cohen is a popular blogger in the field of digital humanities. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of History and Art History at the George Mason University. He "broadly" studies the effect that new technology and media has on "all aspects of knowledge." He has received a few awards in this field and seems to be one of the most respected blogger based on this website alone. This blog features numerous pages of writing from Cohen that has been used in this project.

This blogger was asked to create a website over the papers she had been digitizing. Creating a website entailed knowing how to code it, which she had to learn. Her study shows that having the students build a website adds to their learning process and gives them new ways to think. It also allows the students to collaborate with their teachers that can further engage their research process by adding new questions or finding multiple audiences. The future of Digital Humanities lies within the graduate students and how they are being trained so that they can find better and easier ways to teach the younger generation.

Blogger Dan Cohen discusses how Google is good for history. Historians are simply a group of people who dig through information from the past, put it all together as possible facts or theories, and then share. Cohen then teases Google for a bit when bringing attention to the hand scans that can be occasionally found in Google Books. Their is a question of quality and direction.

Blogger and self proclaimed Digital Humanist Shannon Christine Mattern worries that the technical term "digital humanities" does not do the field any justice. The title was then broken down by Mattern. She says that digital is too broad of a term. If something by chance involves technology, it might be prematurely designated into Digital Humanities. The focus relies too heavily on "digital".

Blogger whose identity I could only trace to as John has written into this Digital Humanities website. He shares with us an announcement that Google has now opened their text mining project that allows for better searching using frequency of words and phrases. This tool is compared to a game using a Star Trek example.

In this blog article, scholar Elizabeth Hopwood asks followers how Digital Humanities can be used for food studies. People are paying more attention to what is eaten and it's health benefits/negativeness--incorporating digital humanities to such a field would be greatly useful. Other bloggers and Hopwood agree on the need to digitze projects for food studies and mention the New York Public Library online menu database.
