Collaboration is the key to being a successful learning organization. Social learning in the workplace plays a big part in a collaborative learning environment. In this article, I will share my thoughts on how collaborative tools can help employees learn better and improve their work performance.

Learning Partner Position at Union Bank, San Diego, CA 92111. Reporting to the Director of Learning Solutions, the Learning Partner collaborates with Consumer Lending business unit leaders in understanding the unit and acts as an internal learning consultant to provide effective interventions that impact the bottom line. Job Summary: The Learning Partner is responsible for leading segment-wide performance and development needs analysis and identifying solutions that include performance/process improvements and learning solutions where needed. The learning solutions delivered are aligned with the strategic business objectives of the division and company. The Learning Partner works closely with leadership of assigned business units to develop and execute a comprehensive learning plan. As a senior member of the Learning Solutions staff, the Learning Partner acts as a key contributor in medium to large-scale design/development projects in a complex environment. A Learning Partner may also lead teams or projects, and is responsible for sharing knowledge and mentoring others. The Learning Partner collaborates with internal and external resources as needed to produce on-target learning programs.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in Education, Instructional Technology or related field Strong background in learning theory and online instruction Experience working with subject matter experts in the development of online learning experiences Competency with CMS systems such as Blackboard, Angel, D2L, eCollege, or Moodle Facility with synchronous and asynchronous online collaboration Excellent collaboration and communication skills Online teaching experience a plus

eLearning professionals can use one or more Google tools from the following list to achieve better learning outcomes. Better learning outcomes comes from collaborative learning and highly interactive eLearning courses that are carefully planned. Always remember that a learning tool or simply a software is the median. We as eLearning professionals give value to any tool based on the way that we use it. The limit is your creativity!

eLearning Authoring Tools Check List of Features Are you looking for a new tool for authoring eLearning? Such tools vary widely in their capabilities. Many are specialists - converting PowerPoint presentations, capturing screens, preparing quizzes and assessments, developing mobile modules, etc. Some are desktop programs for individual use and others are web-based for collaborative authoring. A few are fairly comprehensive. This is a check list of possible features that you might look for when making a decision about an eLearning authoring program. Very few offer all of these. Some teachers feel threatened by these changes, while others embrace the new technologies right in their own classrooms. Many teachers now encourage their students to supplement their classroom experience with online resources. A rapidly increasing fraction of high school teachers are even letting students use their own mobile devices as powerful research tools right in the classroom. Senior Instructional Designer position at University of Washington

A virtual learning environment is a medium of learning where learners go through courses, study materials and learning aids through an online medium. It can be browser-based or a virtual training session through Zoom. Virtual learning offers activities, interactions, and resources within a course structure and provides different levels of assessment. Given this context, learners can access learning materials through peer-to-peer collaboration networks such as forums. As social learning is a continuous process of learning from other people within and outside the organization, it can be integrated into virtual learning through various means.
