Along the way, school, academic, and public libraries are all available to provide services to the student and parents in support of learning and information literacy. This graphic was developed after attendance at various P-20 meetings where it seemed important to show that libraries play an important role throughout the life of students and adults. Minnesota libraries collaborate in sharing services and resources. Learning is bottom up and education is top down. We'll have more learning and less education in the future

Adult learners value the flexibility and convenience offered to them as online learners, and many learners are required to absent themselves from their online classes during courses in order to accommodate demanding schedules. What factors and tensions contribute to learners' decision-making at these times? This qualitative study considered the planned absences of learners engaged in an online graduate course at a large university. Working within the framework provided by cognitive, instructional, and social presences, findings showed the following: (1) learners understood and accommodated the relationship and importance of the affective domain to their cognitive successes in learning, (2) successful learners demonstrated insightful self-knowledge in using metacognitive strategies, and (3) learners' external support systems were fundamental to their ability to continue to learn when absences occurred. The study's findings corroborate other recent research that similarly stresses the complexity and interrelated nature of the adult learning process.

The smartphone market is growing very healthily, as expected, 72% year on year. And 2009 is considered as the year of smartphones. When the Palm Pre arrived in June, the iPhone was its natural competitor. While Apple's most precious asset still continue to rule the market, the battle field has since become considerably more crowded. Google's Android operating system, new Windows phones from Microsoft, enhanced BlackBerry devices are also enticing the users. In addition, PC maker Dell has also join the hot competition this year.

"I've spent an inordinately long time writing a whitepaper on mobile learning trying to expound our thoughts about it and how it might be used in the workplace. I've been doing some research around it and I've documented some of the better links I've come across. Again, as with the links I posted about Games and Simulation, these aren't categorized in any way nor does the order assume any significance. If you're considering mobile learning in any shape or form, I'd suggest you give these a browse. One of the travails of my paper writing (still continues) was that good web resources were quite hard to find, so be spared the ordeal, this is a good place to start."

Wiki pages are always a work in progress. The wiki is like a dynamic online science classroom which continually grows and changes. Applications for the use of Wikis in science classrooms is only limited by the creativeness of the teacher in support science teaching and student earning.

An important overview for any one using Moodle, especially useful for those contemplating an upgrade to 2.0 .  (I'll make the move when we have 2.1 or 2.2.)  

There is no doubt to anyone who has used an iPad or any tablet for that matter that they show a clear alternative to teaching learning in the classroom beyond laptops, screens and monitors.  The iPads simplicity of use and massive range of apps give it a great deal of appeal as a teaching and learning tool and the future looks bright for this trend to continue.
