The website Fighting for Democracy contains lessons showing student what role diversity has played in the development of democracy through an online exhibit.

The Department of Education created "Doing What Works" in order to take research based instruction and making it accessible and usable to the teacher. The materials range from helping low performing schools, encouraging girls in math and science, dropout prevention, and implementing Response to Intervention.

One of the ways to improve student performance in schools is to have parents who are active in their education. This website gives ideas on how to increase parent involvement in the schools. Their activities within the school gives them a vested interst in seeing the school succeed as well as their own children.

The website itself is about building better communities by creating "equitable and just schools." The page I have bookmarked is a list of handouts relating to multicultural education and working around poverty and the social classes. The material at times is out of the norm for the typical teacher, but there are gems hidden amongst the ideas.
