This is an interesting school located in New York. They have a different curriculum and essential question. This website has information about each of these grades. The school also has strong student support services. An interesting school to use as a model for supporting students in different ways.

This website is one that is fun. It examines the ways that males and females work differently. It has different topics you can read and videos to watch. There are pop quizzes about each topic and then different strategies on how to "survive" gender bias. An interesting take on this subject. One to inform your personal knowledge so you are more aware of the different bias patterns.

This website provides an assessment to know which of Gardner's multiple intelligences is strongest for you. It is easy to take and I think most people love learning about themselves. This could be a great resource to use in your classroom to chart how your students learn and also for them to learn what their strengths are. As a learner I think that is incredibly valuable.

The Teaching Tolerance website states their mission as "A place for educators to find thought-provoking news, conversation and support for those who care about diversity, equal opportunity and respect for differences in schools". This organization provides many resources on embracing student diversity and striving for equality. This particular link is for one program they have started called "Mix it Up" which is a program that encourages students to sit with a new group and to reach across peer group lines. Teaching Tolerance provides many more resources on poverty, bullying and race relations. From professional development, to classroom activities to teaching kits- it is a resource dedicated to improving tolerance and understanding, which I believe is a major step in helping closing that achievement gap.
