Dr. Bonk's new book is out and it is excellent (yes, I have a preview copy.) It has a delightful overview of what is happening with technology and global collaboration (and includes flat classroom and also a sidebar about how Dr. Bonk and I met at GAETC two years a go - kind of humorous.) This is the website for the Flat Classroom conference. The 2011 conference will be in Beijing China and registration information will be posted within the next month. We are very excited about next year's conference. There are two strands which join together and separate at various times depending upon learning outcomes in this unique project based learning conference experience.

NASA calls for Citizen scientists to help map Mars and says that citizen scientists "have helped to answer serious scientific questions, provide vital data to the astronomical community, and have discovered thousands of objects including nebulas, supernovas and gamma ray bursts." It is time to join your classrooms into the citizen scientist movement. How would your students feel about science if they helped discover a star?
