An amazing maths Apple, Windows Phone and (soon) Android app which works out equations by taking a photo of them.

A superb site and apps full of maths games for primary aged children.

Layar may be only operational in a few specific countries? I tried to locate the software from the App Store from Australia but did not succeed.

Evernote has bought Skitch and made it free. Android app also.

This is an online programming suite for kids. It closely resembles MIT's Scratch, but it has improved on a few features and striped away some others. One great feature is that students can sign on with a Google Apps for Education account. A superb Apple and Android app from IFTTT which lets you setup one click notes which can be used for many online services. You can send a note to your email, add something to Evernote, or even add something to your Google Calendar by extracting the details from the text. Use it in your ongoing assessment by quickly noting things you notice in class.

Google's Cyber weekend deals are a serious reason to at least download Google Play for iOS on your ipad. I'm picking up Malcom Gladwell's book for 3.49 and reading it in the app for just this reason. Book lovers must go over this list, but the chromecast stick is worth a look as it is basically a Roku/ Apple TV on a stick for just $35.

This is a must try site which provides an amazing 3D world which teaches English and maths core skills. Players race against two other randomly chosen online players of a similar level. The questions start out very easy and adapt to the performance of the player. The questions are read out and some are displayed on the screen. The player just clicks on the correct multiple choice answer to increase their speed. There is a download for PCs and Macs as well as apps for iPad and Android. There are teacher accounts which allow you to make logins for lots of children quickly. When there log in students will be asked to design an avatar. An iOS and Android app from Google designed to scan printed photos to make a digital version using the device's camera, but it is very good for scanner students work too.
