A One Stop Shop for everything Web 2.0

Web search can be a remarkable research tool for students - and we've heard from educators that they could use some help to teach better search skills in their classroom. The following Search Education lessons were developed by Google Certified Teachers to help you do just that. The lessons are short, modular and not specific to any discipline so you can mix and match to what best fits the needs of your classroom. Additionally, all lessons come with a companion set of slides (and some with additional resources) to help you guide your in-class discussions.

What we've decided is that we will no longer use the web filter as a classroom management tool.  Blocking one distraction doesn't solve the problem of students off task - it just encourages them to find another site to distract them.  Students off task is not a technology problem - it's a behavior problem

Websites as Graphs

Both wikis and blogs provide teachers with a a dynamic process for integrating Web 2.0 technology in their science and math classes. These two types of online tools offer students a more engaging process for learning. Both are relatively easy tools which do not require teachers or students to learn any special program tools or computer skills. Their uses and applications are only limited by the vision and purpose for helping students learn.

Flipbook looks like an amazing and easy animation creator. Students can draw and create right on the website. They make their animations frame-by-frame. This web2.0 tool could be applied to any unit for my science students. I would love to have them make a step-by-step animation of a cell going through mitosis!
