YouTube video: . The Networked Student concept map to help understand networked learning in the 21st century.

I also came across this video. I think this video does a great job representing connectivism and networked learning for students and educators.

This example explores the experience of a networked student based on the theory of connectivism and how it can benefit students. It starts by describing the process for being such a student. This in fact models what we are doing in this course.

This is a resources describing the effect of connectivity in a PLN. "If I surround myself with people doing great things, then I am going to benefit." This video explains PLNs and how these networks cause exponential creative growth.

This video really describes PLNs and CoPs in a nutshell. It shows how valuable these networks are to education and learning in general. As the video states, "there is no way I can be the best at everything." It takes a network to benefit from the knowledge of many others. No longer do we, as teachers, have to to know all of the facts.

This educational video site has many Spanish resources (and tons of other topics). Though not as organized as Ver-taal or Zambombazo, there are many good grammar videos to benefit Spanish students.

This you tube video discusses the importance of PLN's for the Educational Professional.

This is a decent video of a discussion between two professionals who discuss CoPs.  It defines a CoP and gives examples of what might happen in a CoP.  It is informative and helped me understand the difference between CoPs and PLNs.  

This video contains an interview with Dr. Etienne Wenger in which he discusses communities of practice. Wenger describes his background and how communities of practice create partnerships in learning. Wenger explains that a community of practice provides a group of people one can turn to during a challenge, giving him/her a learning partnership to go to for assistance or ideas.

This is an animated video website that allows students and teachers to create free videos and animated lessons. The user can choose the characters and setting and then either narrate the video or type in text that the characters will lip sync

I just got done with a lesson plan in my E-commerce class that used Goanimate. I also have used Powtoon which is just as user friendly for students. Good Stuff

This video funded by the EU explains why it is important for educators to look outside of their local community for their PLN. The video highlights three main reasons that a vast and diverse PLN is important: Availability, knowledge, willingness to share. The video focuses on the PLM for foreign language. The ability to connect with speakers globally has revolutionized how, when, and where we can learn from.

In an animated video, Steven Johnson examines how good ideas develop. He proposes they rarely happen in a moment, but develop over time. It is necessary for those good ideas to come in contact with other good ideas from outside sources. When we have systems that allow for these ideas to come together, we are creating an atmosphere where better ideas can flourish. He believes that an increase in using the internet will lead to an increase in connectivity and more good ideas than ever before.

I enjoyed this video very much! Somethings are so obvious but the realization doesn't hit until you hear it or read it. In this case, I enjoyed the narration of how a good idea is very seldomly an "Eureka" moment. The internet was a work in progress for 10 years. I had no idea! Something that struck me is that great, life-changing ideas are usually a collaborative effort. I can also appreciate the narrator's stand that it is possible that all of the digital distractions might actually hinder those ideas. But, with technology collaboration on those ideas has gotten a little easier.

Veritasium, the maker of some fantastic science videos on YouTube, looks at some of the research on what makes a video effective for teaching science.

This short PowToon video gives a small example of how we can utilize collaboration to reach out in finding more information on the topic of our choice.
