This is a blog dedicated to the latest in educational technology, not so much the gadgets, but the evolution of education. It's a good way to keep on top of things without reading every article and blog on the internet.
I rather like the idea of learning about other places and other cultures using Second Life. This location gives a lot of facts, though much is in German. It has some parts of the geography that are reminiscent of Switzerland, and there are plenty of informational posters in English.
This is an excellent video which could be used in Edtec700. It elucidates the seven sensibilities of virtual worlds, convincing the viewer of the value of these environments. I am ready to take the red pill. (You'll see what that means if you watch the video.)
This is actually a YouTube video which I found to be very useful in explaining to people the potential uses of Second Life, which I have had to do a lot since beginning this course. It was done by a humanities teacher, so her emphasis is on history and drama instruction.
