Ning site is dedicated to teachers exploring the potential of using MUVEs for teaching and learning about Social Studies. This is the group Virtual Pioneers in Second Life. Many links to great educational projects for K12 teachers and ISTE.

Excellent Ning-based resource for teacher and student cross-collaboration. Its aim is to promote the use of virtual worlds as educators. Blog, video, photo, and SLURL meeting locations make this a great one-stop shop for ideas on incorporating second life into the curriculum.

I was directed here after watching a video from secondclassroom.ning.com about using SL to create Machinima videos. It shows examples of Machinima movies for 6th and 8th grade. I am most interested in the integration of 6th grade social studies curriculum of Greek gods.

Here is another community for educators using virtual worlds for learning. I just submitted an application ... we'll see whether or not they accept me! It appears to be a Ning network with many resources. I think joining these communities is important ... reducing the learning curve by listening to those who have already learned things the hard way is a skill I'm trying hard to cultivate! Dana

This is the most satisfying second life learning experience I have had to date. The simulation is beautiful and has many interactive features including a "Magic Carpet Ride" through the complex.
