This website provides several flash games that teach kids math concepts such as fractions, percentage, money change, and geometry. Students will like the way the site is deleivered, as well. On the "Play with Numbers, Give Your Brain a Workout" pages, students can do flash cards, use manipulatives, use a calculator, model math problems with blocks, etc. There are new problems for each month, as well.

Students began by studying biomes then divided into groups of five. Each student in the group drew one of the five major biomes. Using books, cds, and the internet they had to find out the physical features, wildlife, vegetation, climate, and problems confronting their biome. Each person in the group contributed information, video footage taken at the zoo or aquarium, and additional graphics when needed to teach others about their chosen biome. The project was put together in iMovie and shared with all students in the class.

Students select a special place that is important to them then take on the roll of a park ranger and through photographs and narration in a short video (which will be turned into an enhanced podcast) explain why this place is special to them, what is unique about it, what are its main features, its history, and what people need to do to help preserve it for the future.

This website turns your students into cartoon artists. They can doodle, create a movie, build their own greeting card, or draw a comic strip using predesigned elements in this free multimedia software. Students can also build Avatars to use in the program. The "For Teachers" link provides additional help and digital story telling lesson plans for use in the classroom.

Students are encouraged to discover what makes their environmental area unique (wildlife, natural resources, landscape, terrain, plant life, history, special events, culture, etc.) and then to choose a means to share their presentation with the world. The ultimate goal is to have students from all over the world contribute their slice of the world using whatever presentation format they feel is best so that we can understand our world better from those who have firsthand knowledge.

Students use digital still or video cameras to find examples around their school representing facts and opinions. They create an iMovie, sometimes with voiceover, to clearly show their understanding of the two concepts.

This activity simulates how different propellant combinations effect the speed of rockets.Students compare how far their rockets travel using vinegar and baking soda vs. water and effervescent tablets.

Students learn which materials work best for filtering water so it can be recycled. They create and test their own simple water filtration system and discuss how astronauts filter their water.

This is an excellent website that goes along with the Rebecca Sitton Spelling Program. Users can click on the different grade levels to find the words and corresponding activities for a particular unit. The site would make it easier for parents to stay involved in weekly spelling lists.
