A blog created by a classroom teacher and her 5th and 6th grade Language Arts classes which includes student book reviews, an author study podcast, an online book club and more.

This blog is a good example of how students can write book reviews to be shared with their peers. It will also be interesting to watch how their online book club develops. I look forward to their How 2 Videos especially the video on finding a good book!

Use two fun Web 2.0 sites: LibraryThing and Goodreads. Both are fantastic book-oriented and library-oriented social-networking pages focused on something simple -- the books you love to read. Students can use sites to share book recommendations with one another.

Teachers find that audio books are sound reading tools. Students listen to recorded books while following along on paper. The process is repeated until they can read the books independently.

Well known actors read aloud favorite children's books. Captions can be turned on or off. Stories can not be downloaded and must be streamed. Good books!

Social networking tool for readers. It is similar to LibraryThing. Readers can use it to find new books they might like to read based on reviews or recommendations by friends or strangers with similar tastes.

Students began by studying biomes then divided into groups of five. Each student in the group drew one of the five major biomes. Using books, cds, and the internet they had to find out the physical features, wildlife, vegetation, climate, and problems confronting their biome. Each person in the group contributed information, video footage taken at the zoo or aquarium, and additional graphics when needed to teach others about their chosen biome. The project was put together in iMovie and shared with all students in the class.

This online book is a collection of articles that focuses on the Net Generation. The articles include "Technology and Learning Expectations of the Net Generation" and "Using Technology as a Leaning Toold, Not Just the Cool New Thing."

This lesson hits around the 3-4th grade level. It is a fun activity that helps teach division through reading the book, When the Doorbell Rang to the class. The students get to have cookies and milk which anytime you use food in a lesson I have learned in motivating! They also will used kid pix for integration of technology after the story practicing creating problems for other students in the class to solve.

This website gives a couple lessons for all grade levels but I bookmarked the fourth grade level for internet safety lesson and how to handle school technology equipment.
