This is a great website that contains thousands of free presentations from A-Z in Power Point format and free interactive games. You can get very creative with the resources at this site.
This site was used as a guide to help educators learn about how ILife can be useful in the classroom. The way information is presented requires more cognitive activity than behavioral. The site seems to be more technology centered, because it focuses more on the technology itself. As Mayer (2009) suggests the this approach focuses more on the capabilities of the technology.

This tool can be utilize to share informative presentations throughout the workshop. Voicethread is also going to be an option for teachers to use in their final product. The voicethread tool is free and user-friendly. Simply register for an account, upload images, complete your voice recording and publish.
I am using Voice Thread to introduce the use of the graphic organizer in my workshop. This will be helpful for essential processing as they begin to select the important information that will be presented in the workshop. I posted a copy of the graphic organizer and then used a microphone to record the directions for the participant. I also typed out and posted a written example of how they might begin to fill out the graphic organizer. My workshop participants will have a paper copy of the graphic organizer, but will also have a choice to post their ideas on the voice thread. I chose this site because it is easy to use and interactive. I want to provide a differentiated learning opportunity for my digital natives by using an interactive webtool as opposed to paper pencil, which may be more appealing to my digital immigrant participants.
What it does: There are 36 different graphic organizers that teachers and students can print and use.
Why this one: This site has 36 different graphic organizers for which permission is granted for educators to reproduce and utilize. The variety of organizers covers a large realm of different possibilities for different project.
Learning benefits: Teachers can use these for themselves as well as students and could generate a great deal of ideas on how to incorporate into a multimedia method. The conversion from paper to electronic would serve two purposes - generative learning of creating an electronic version and the graphic organization of the lesson.
This is a good site for the most basic graphic organizers to the more difficult organizers. There are also a variety of organizers on this site. In some cases, I could use these as organizers for the material in the presentation, offer the organizers as tools for the participants to use to note take, and to use to organize their information throughout the presentation. More importantly, these can be used to also help teach research strategies when participants take the training materials to the classroom.
Eduplace provides free graphic organizers that users can modify to fit their needs. These graphic organizers promote essential learning because it aids in the organization of content. I chose this site because of its wide variety of graphic organizer types and because it was part of a reputable organization, Houghton Mifflin publishers.
This program is free to download and use to create tutorials that can be created for a specific presentation. It allows the user to capture screen shots and add sound, explanations etc. to the tutorial. By using a tutorial that is created specifically for this workshop, participants will be able to follow along and produce the desired outcome. Also, if the tutorial is uploaded to a wiki page, participants can access the site to review at a later date.
For the Presentation section of the Workshop, this free audio software can be used as a podcast or simply the audio and embeded into a Wiki or Ning or PowerPoint project.
The w3schools introduction to HTML pages serve as pre-training material as they help introduce the topics associated with Web programming. The site serves as a good primer that can be used prior to learning HTML tags and engaging in coding. I prefer this site to others as the navigation is helpful and the layout is concise, but advertisements are present. Considering essential cognitive load, the introductory pages may help students organize their thoughts about Web design and programming in HTML prior to actually beginning the hands-on portion of a programming lesson.
The Microsoft Movie maker site uses cogitative activity to teach learners how to create multimedia presentations. This site supports the learning needs by using audio and imagery when students create and share their movies. Mayer (2010) is a strong believer that verbal and visual representation is essential to process and organize data. In using Mayer's dual channel system the system uses the learner-centered approach since the design features are simple (2010).
The following multimedia presentation represents students at a University that are expressing the "analog" learning available and their need for digital technology. I find this presentation to be an interesting representation of what students feel they need in order to learn in today's society versus what the university feels is an acceptable means of education. The focus of this article is technology-centered.
The Windows Media Player 12 allows users to view and listen to videos, movies, and music. The Windows Media Player appeals to the visual and auditory learners. The program allows teachers to show video clips relating to instructional topics using the lecture and discussion presentation method. The program supports essential and generative learning methods using the multimedia format.
This is a video that I will incorporate into my presentation. This introduces Google Sky to students and gives basic navigation information for the constellations and the planets. I like it better than some others because it uses the application we will be exploring during the workshop.

This is an overview of APA. The use of this site is a basic overview. It will give the participants a chance to look at the basics prior to the presentation. It will also show the participants the basic of research style. This can help them with the basic concepts of what are needed for a research paper. This site also has links to even more basic tutorials and help sheets on APA style. There are no interactive quizzes. This is a good site for pre-training as well as retraining.
This screen capturing software permits the creation of video tutorials with audio, text, and image features. Struggling participants will view the tutorials in order to perform assessment criteria thus building knowledge structure and reducing essential cognitive load. Camtasia offers an affordable solution to producing a visually sound presentation with a professional polish. Although the final presentation seems complex, the creation process takes little time and effort.
Blockposters is a free online tool that will accept .jpg or .gif images up to 1 MB in size, allow for poster sizing, and return a .pdf file containing the image rendered across multiple pages. Simply print the file and assemble the pages for an instant poster-sized rendition of an image, graphic organizer, instruction page, or just about anything else. This is a tool I have been looking to find for some time! While I have tried replicating the functionality of this online tool using various desktop tools, the ease of use of Blockposters is amazing and the fact that a .pdf file is returned for easy downloading and printing is a welcome surprise. This tool could easily be used for pre-training by enlarging for print most graphic organizers, mind maps, and other types of assistive instructional material that facilitates essential cognitive processing tasks. By printing a graphic organizer in large format and posting in front of a class, students can easily refer to the diagram as needed while using their computers directly in front of them. Posting a large scale printout also eliminates students having to shuffle through miscellaneous printouts on their desktops while operating their computers. Handouts of the graphic organizer could be provided, but the timing of providing the handout could be strategically incorporated into the presentation / workshop to eliminate extraneous materials during the discovery and learning phases.

Software features affect essential and generative processing by using innovation to create an engaging environment and present fundamental skills in a variety of learning modalities. This software creates an interactive learning environment with a library full of resources and organizes select information with easy navigation.

Issuu is a free Digital Publishing Service. The program is easy to use; it takes a PDF or a word document and generates a multimedia presentation which can be customized. The presentation can be embedded or posted online.
