Bubbl.us - 3 views

This is an excellent collaborative brainstorming tool for creating a mind map. This could be excellent for PreTraining or for a graphic organizer. Imagine your class having this open while you present key information, and they create their mind map of your concepts.

Bubbl.us http://www.bubbl.us/ Bubbl.us is a free application that allows users to brainstorm and think online using colorful mind maps. While this application is a bit different from Webspiration the concept is the same. If you are looking for a very simple and easier to use program for younger students this might just be your answer! With just a hit on the enter key you can quickly and easily design and create spider mind maps. I believe that Bubbl.us is a website that can absolutely help learners think with more organization and it illustrates how connections can be made between information. Compared to Webspiration Bubbl.us seems a bit elementary to my likings for my high school students, but for someone who is working with the elementary crowd this would be perfect because there are not as many bells and whistles to this program. Even though students are still able to modify colors and change the location of the bubbles.

Online bubble maps that can be used in the planning process for presentations. This tool is user-friendly and will allow teachers to share access with each other throughout the workshop. The sharing feature of this tool will also promote the needed collaboration among the group.

An online mind mapping application which is very user friendly. Throughout the presentation process, this tool will provide opportunities for the instructor and participants to design webs related to covered material. For instance, in my workshop, webs can be used to illustrate various teaching and learning strategies for each special education category visually. This application is somewhat different to navigate than Webspiration, which I have frequently used in the past as well as Inspiration in the classroom. It took a few moments of trial and error to determine where certain element tabs and buttons were, but it also presents graphics which have a more professional appearance.

This is a free site that allows for brainstorming and creating graphic organizers. It automatically arranges bubbles as you type and allows you to manually arrange them. Bubbl can create colorful mind maps online, share and work with friends and embed mind maps in your blog or website.
  •
This site allows you create mind maps. It easily allows you to branch out your ideas. I like this site because it is easy to use, you simply click an existing bubble and it creates a new branch. It is also very easy to change the font and the color of the bubbles.

Mind map creator. Easy to use, free, and has a variety of presentation options.
  •
Bubbl us is a graphic organizer used to organize ideas. As I viewed the site, I thought I could offer this to my students who might be intimidated by the use of graphic organizers on the web. Using this site might reduce the extraneous process because the goal is to organize thoughts not learn a new tool.

Voice Thread - 0 views

This tool can be utilize to share informative presentations throughout the workshop. Voicethread is also going to be an option for teachers to use in their final product. The voicethread tool is free and user-friendly. Simply register for an account, upload images, complete your voice recording and publish.

I am using Voice Thread to introduce the use of the graphic organizer in my workshop. This will be helpful for essential processing as they begin to select the important information that will be presented in the workshop. I posted a copy of the graphic organizer and then used a microphone to record the directions for the participant. I also typed out and posted a written example of how they might begin to fill out the graphic organizer. My workshop participants will have a paper copy of the graphic organizer, but will also have a choice to post their ideas on the voice thread. I chose this site because it is easy to use and interactive. I want to provide a differentiated learning opportunity for my digital natives by using an interactive webtool as opposed to paper pencil, which may be more appealing to my digital immigrant participants.

These resources and training materials will be very helpful for individuals beginning to use interwrite workspace. I especially like the beginning videos found at http://www.einstruction.com/support_downloads/training/workspace.html# These are the most applicable videos to my school system and the 21st century classrooms that we currently have. I chose to use the interwrite technology because this is what we use in my school system.

The Solar System - Astronomy For Kids - KidsAstronomy.com - 0 views

This is one of two sites that I will be using in my Graphic Organizer and Presentation. This site is a compilation of various astronomy resources, games, and presentations for kids. I love it because it has very bright graphics and is easy to navigate. This will be the introduction to the Solar System which will give the students information to use in their authentic assessment. They can view this via my laptop with the LCD Projector and a large screen. Although it will be a visual or graphic, it will also be part of the presentation. The graphic organizer will be the actual tabs that will show pictures of the different planets and then we will click on each planet to view more information which will be needed in the authentic assessment. Museum Box Homepage - 0 views

Museum Box is a great tool for Social Studies teachers and teachers of other content areas. A free tool, it allows teachers and students to create "boxes" of artifacts and information about a topic of their choosing. The focus is on cognitive activity on a student-focused level since users have to think through which artifacts and information would be most effective in terms of presenting the most valuable information about a topic of their own choosing. Even if the teacher assigns the topic to the student, it is still up to the student to choose which items to put in the box. I can see this tool working for Social Studies teachers as a way for their students to present what they have learned about a particular topic, but I can also see it being useful in my English Language Arts classroom as a way for my students to present information about the time period in which a novel occurs.

    * Brief Description:  Through Google Drive, I can create an authentic assessment as a document and then share it with participants.  Participants are able to access the document, make a copy of their own to add in their own information and notes.   * Brief Explanation: I like the easy sharing ability of Google Drive and how I can have access to all of the participants'' assessments on my computer and not have to juggle a pile of paper.
