Meanwhile Google+ has never offered RSS feeds. Of course it's clear that these social media services have an interest in killing off RSS. They all want to usurp its role as the web's universal subscription platform and become the de facto gatekeepers of the web."

"Pearson, the major international publisher and education firm, is to become a for-profit private higher education provider in the UK. The firm is opening Pearson College, teaching a degree course validated by existing London universities. The business and enterprise degree, taught in London and Manchester, will have about 40 places this year. The college says it will be for "students who are serious about succeeding in business". Pearson says this will be the first time a FTSE 100 company has directly delivered a degree course."

The graphic below pits our social network usage against the huge adoption of mobile phones - currently at 4.6 billion worldwide. Facebook, with over 500 million users, is still around 10 times smaller than the worldwide mobile market. Even web-based e-mail, which accounts for over 800 million users collectively, barely holds a candle to the mobile juggernaut. The key here is convergence. Where do all these social platforms intersect with mobile, thus becoming "GeoSocial?"

Though US focused this list from the Online Colleges is useful nonetheless "For teachers hoping to infuse multimedia into their classrooms, YouTube makes for an excellent starting point. Plenty of universities, nonprofits, organizations, museums and more post videos for the cause of education both in and out of schools. Google Nexus now joins the list of iPHones and digital cameras that have been raised into near earth orbit by students. All that remains is to slingshot one into space with a big rubber band .. or for one to land in my back yard :-)
