The History 2.0 Classroom: Postach.io X Evernote X Explain Everything X iPads - 3 views

  •
conjunction with Explain Everything, students now have the ability to publish blog posts through their existing Evernote account that can include customized images, graphics or posters. One of my favorite uses for Explain Everything is to create graphics by using the cropping image & text feature. Once the graphic is created, it can either be exported to the camera roll or uploaded directly to Evernote. Once the image is included in the Evernote note that is tagged with "published", the blog post will appear on the Postach.io blog with the custom image. (If publishing directly from Explain Everything to Evernote, remember to go into the note and add the "published" tag word).

"Some believe the internet is losing its direction as an enabler for a more connected society and falling into the hands of corporations. "A lot of people put a lot of faith in those platforms and don't realize that the medium is the message," he said. This is how he and his supporters plan to take back the web for the people..."

"A search to recover the very first web page has unearthed a relic from 1991. The page turned up after Cern launched a public appeal for files, hardware and software from the web's earliest days. The original page is missing because the web's creators did not preserve the early work they did on what has become a historic document."

"If you used home computers at various times from the 1970s through to the 1990s, you have a problem. The problem may be irrelevant, or not a huge problem, but it's a problem nonetheless. The problem is that the vast majority of home computers used 5.25″ floppy disks.. "

80 Days That Changed Our Lives - ABC Archives - 3 views

  •
To celebrate its 80th birthday, the ABC created 80 Days That Changed Our Lives to showcase audio visual treasures from the ABC's 80-year-old archives. Large or small, a single day or months and years, moments of high drama or a gradual shift in attitude, the 80 events featured on this site were documented by the ABC because they made an impact at the time. Looking back at these moments, it's easy to see how certain events mark changes in the way Australians have lived and thought about the world and their place in it.
