This website is part of a research project exploring the use of ICTs for learning and teaching Languages in ICT-enhanced government schools.

This project seeks to empower the worldwide population of self-motivated learners who use digital media to connect with each other, to co-construct knowledge, to co-learn. Co-learning is ancient; the capacity for learning by imitation and more, to teach others what we know, is the essence of human culture. We are human because we learn together. Today, however, the advent of digital production media and distribution/communication networks has raised the power and potential of co-learning to a new level.

"Google Reader, one of the world's most popular RSS readers, is shutting down on July 1, 2013, Google announced Wednesday. The search giant is pulling the plug on the 7-year old project citing "declining usage." Google says it is shuttering Reader and deprecating or shutting down a number of other services as part of the company's "spring cleaning" initiative - one that seeks to help the company focus on the features that need the most use."

TtEDSC is one of 12 Deployment Trial initiatives funded under the NBN-Enabled Educations Skills and Services (NBNEESS) program. The program is part of the federal government's wider Digital Economy strategy. We are utilising the National Broadband Network​ to deliver innovative content and services to independent schools nationally by leveraging the experience and expertise of the State-based independent school associations and by engaging capable and committed vendors who are supporting our project.

Moot (Beta) is a very interesting project in my eyes because there's a bit of tension in its design philosophy: it wants to take a step back into the past and recover the lost relevance of meaningful discussion (which they claim have died with social media) while incorporating features of the future (clean and responsive interface).

"After watching surgeons perform these experiments, it is chilling to watch the Google Glass promotional video showing a cyclist riding between cars in heavy New York City traffic, while being bombarded with head-up navigational data. Our attention is a resource that is extremely limited in supply and instinctively overestimated. Inevitably - as with mobile phone use while driving - accidents will occur and we will be left to legislate use after a string of tragedies. The biggest challenge with Google Glass and similar devices is us.
