"This site will provide you with links, ideas, tips, and much more for supporting the use of infographics as an assessment option in the classroom. The site has three informational pages, linked on the right. The first page provides a list of links to support my infographics presentation. The second page includes a Google Form for you to add your own ideas, practices, or links to information you have found. The third page provides contact information for me, in case you have ideas, suggestions, criticisms, witticisms, or just want to chat!"

"...regardless of what code you decide to learn, or teach, you will need a code editor with which to compile your code. For me, there are few that have more benefits than the free Editey website editor apps." Blogpost from Jonathan Wylie

What did the guy telling you to use Google Apps miss? | The Playable Classroom - 4 views

"The Internet might not be the place to send young people quite as easily as a few years ago. I realise this conflicts with the whole 'get a personal learning network/connected teacher' rhetoric - but I'm pretty sure those things are more concerned with creating advertising funnels for particular products and services than actually re-imagining how learning could work for millions of people. So apart from the fact you want to stay open-minded and allowed to think for yourself as a teacher - why else it is now more valid than ever to to think twice about 'getting onboarded'. The late adopter might just be the smart ones after all."

Tackk - Content Creation + Sharing - 5 views

  •
A nifty site for creating simple content and sharing it out. Easier than a 'Wiki' although the options for 'students' to use prior accounts, such as Google, seem to be absent. Also can't workout if you can lock it down and restrict its ability to be viewed. @Kellywalsh suggests that it is ideal for flipping the classroom.

A Collaborative Guide to Best Digital Learning Practices for K-12 | DMLcentral - 5 views

  •
Below you will find a collaboratively written document produced in Bangkok, Thailand, at the March 28-31 teacher's meeting of EARCOS, the East Asia Regional Council of Schools.  EARCOS is an organization of 130 primary and secondary schools that primarily use English as the language of instruction.  These include AP and IB schools and a number of other private schools.  We produced the document below on a public Google doc at a workshop, which I structured on the model of an "innovation challenge" of the kind that web developers use to bring together communities to complete a project.  We hope this guide will be useful to any teacher confronting the challenges of introducing new technologies into the K-12 classroom in meaningful, inventive, productive, creative, and connected ways.

"Lately we've been hearing from more and more folks about how they're using Chromebooks, especially from classroom teachers, where there has been a rapidly growing movement towards using Google Apps for Education. It's no big surprise then that we've received quite a few requests to bring TechSmith's products to the Chrome platform, and it's our pleasure to announce that this is exactly what we're doing, with TechSmith Snagit for Chrome!"

Free Technology for Teachers: How to Use PicCollage - And Five Ideas for Using It In Yo... - 2 views

  •
Another useful post from Richard Byrne with some good ideas about using PicCollage with students. With the app you can arrange pictures, video, text, and stickers into collages very easily. "From the app you can share your collage to Google Drive, Instagram, Facebook, Dropbox, and many other file sharing services" He has also included a video where he demonstrates how to use the tool without creating a PicCollage account. It is a free tool and available as an Android or iPad app.

"Quick Makes is about giving the chance to tinker with a range of applications and programs, each with their own constraints, to discover that creating, making and engaging with technology is not only easy but can be fun, especially when we are focused. From mashing up a website with Mozilla Thimble to creating your own visual with Google Draw, spend a few minutes exploring the potential for technology to make giving a voice to learning more doable."

Mark Frydenberg: The Flipped Classroom: It's Got to Be Done Right - 3 views

I am flipping my staff professional development sessions also. Teachers watch training videos on their own. Then I use screen-o-matic to capture crucial points of a handout I distribute and assign mini homework lessons prior to meeting. Then when we all get together, I use a Google doc form to get quick responses to kick off table talk. Teachers seem to llike that they can go at their own pace of learning prior to meeting.
