This would be great tool for teachers if you did not have to pay for lesson plans. There are so many other websites that you can get great lesson plans and they are FREE!!!

This is one of my least favorite websites because you have to pay for lesson plans. Teachers don't make a great deal of money as it is so why would you want to pay for lesson plans when you can find others for free.

I have students that are really not in my class, but they are on my role. These students work with Study Island to help them pass their EOG's. These students are below their grade level potential, so they come to me during my class for extra help The Study Island user-friendly interface allows students to move through the program step-by-step. Each section has a pre-test and a post-test, as well as topics that cover each of the objectives within the Standard Course of Study. Topics consist of questions, answers, explanations, and lessons that address the specific skills required in order to master the Standard Course of Study.

This is one of my favorite sites to use. Study Island is built from state standards and features many options for its' users. The intended audience for this site are K-8. It functions as a testing platform for students and an assessment tool for educators. I enjoy that the activities are designed based on state standards and that educators have the option to choose what questions and/or games will be included in the students activity.

This site was designed for children ages 7-12. There aren't many games on the site and when children are playing games, they lose focus on the task at hand; learning! Skate Kids functions as a site that teaches learners how to memorize and recognize. I think that this site has potential but I would have to put it in my least favorite five.

This website is my most favorite website simply due to the content that I am currently teaching. I use this website on a daily basis. The intended audience for this website is for teachers for the following courses: Civics, middle school Social Studies, English, and US History. This website is created and ran by UNC's School of Government. It includes lesson plans, PowerPoints, and videos.

When you get to the third page, there are two links that I find unnecessary. Ultimately, one can become slightly confused as they end up in similar places. The two links seem purposeless. When one arrives at the page of artist names, navigation gets a little more confusing when making decisions about how to get back or proceed. Also, there is a lot of unnecessary negative space on each page. Can you think of other ways this could have been improved?

A. Pintura was actually one of my favorites back in 2002. This site creates a simple way to get students involved in solving a mystery while drawing conclusions and learning about art styles. Students can make inferences using the information provided even with little prior knowledge. When I used it with elementary children, I was able to hold their attention as I talked them through steps in the computer lab. Unfortunately, this activity has not been updated since then and still needs improvement. It has unnecessary links making navigation slightly confusing. The site lacks variety as there is only one mystery to solve and it could have addressed other art vocabulary.

Crayola is like the McDonald's of art supplies. I cannot deny that there they don't make decent products and that there are actually acceptable projects lurking within the search engines. Visually and navigation-wise, this site is great. Why isn't it one of my favorites? Coloring sheets!!! I abhor coloring sheet advocates. While coloring sheets can be temporarily useful for training students to stay inside lines, they are definitely not beneficial for much else.

Vista/blackboard is a very frustrating CMS to use, in my opinion. Courses do not flow as well as they do on Moodle. Blackboard/vista seems to be "old school." I am unable to download files on this site when using an apple computer. This is a basic function that should be farily simple and yet it is a disaster! This is one of my least favorite websites!

Ha ha, I agree. Although I'm not as crazy about Moodle yet either.
