http://www.theteachersguide.com/ClassManagement.htm - it is hard to put this site on this list because it has good information. It is intended for teachers, but new teachers would likely appreciate the information. Unfortunately, it is a presentational nightmare - it looks "cheap" and from the main page, you wouldn't guess that good information lies deep within. The ads are are everywhere and they get in the way of deciphering what is real info and what is an ad. If you get past that and make it in, the info is valuable but the background looks like an old TV without an antenna, and when you scroll down it might give someone a seizure.

http://www.teach-nology.com/teachers/lesson_plans/languages/spanish/ - The Google write-up made this sound like a great place to find lesson plans. It is intended for teachers and has a list of disciplines from which to choose. When I chose World Languages, the first three links were dead and the fourth one took me to a so-so lesson plan from 1999. The website has lots of links so it looks extensive at the start, but it is an old website that has not been updated in probably a decade. While some of the info might be valuable, too many dead links make it frustrating to use.

http://www.csun.edu/~hcedu013/eslsp.html - This website also sounded promising as a clearing house for various links to foreign language resources and lesson plans. It is clearly a very old site, with old web design technology. If the different colored letters don't turn you off, then the dead links will. It is intended for teachers but has not been updated so it is not effective, which is unfortunate, because if it were maintained and updated, it would be a good resource.

http://www.uni.edu/becker/Spanish3.html - I thought this would be good because it comes from a university. It probably does have good information, I just can't past the colored boxes, images, crazy fonts, colors, etc. to actually see what the site has to offer.

http://www.flageorgia.org/flag.htm - This is a state language association website. It looks like it was designed with very old school technology, which makes me wonder if the information is up to date. The overuse of the logo draws your attention away from the information. There is a lot of information provided on the website, but the use of colored boxes takes away from its authenticity, in my opinion. The lack of breadcrumbs can leave the user deep inside the web pages with no idea how to get back out, except with many clicks of the browser "back" button.

These sites mostly have to do with Spanish and languages, although not all.

http://www.cal.org/index.html -The function of this site is to provide language educators research and resources for languages and linguistics. I like this site because it provides links to pertinent articles in my field and is a valuable source for learning and lessons, projects, and current information.

http://www.colby.edu/~bknelson/SLC/index.php - this website was created at a university and it provides online learning modules and practice exercises for Spanish. The intended audience includes both educators and students. I like this site because it is very comprehensive, nicely laid out, the modules follow best practices in second language acquisition methods, and the exercises are challenging and provide excellent feedback. It is one of the best Spanish exercise websites out there.

http://www.picnik.com/ - This website serves as a photo editor. It is intended for anyone who wants to jazz up their photos. I like it because it is easy to use, intuitive, and allows me to play around with photos without having to download software or register.

http://www.mec.es/sgci/usa/es/publicaciones/materiales/portada.shtml - This site is from the Spanish Embassy Educational Ministry. They publish lesson plans and this site allows you to access them online. It is intended for Spanish teachers of any level. I like this site because the lesson plans are very good, they are written by language teachers and follow the National Standards for foreign language teaching. Unlike many "lesson plan" websites out there, this one provides full unique and interactive lesson plans for novice - advanced level students.

http://www.internet4classrooms.com/teachertools.htm - The function of this site is to provide teachers with resources ranging from assessment to planning tools. It is quite comprehensive, providing links to the resources and down-loadable forms. There are also technology tutorials about various software that is commonly found in schools. Teachers are the intended audience, but it would be suitable for pre-service teachers as well. I like the site because it is basically a clearing house for all topics, with links to those topics already provided. The only thing I don't like about it is that you have to click on everything individually (including the different tutorials) because everything is in print form. I like the links to the blogs and although it does have ads, they aren't as intrusive as some pages.

Just had to add one more :) www.flanc.org -The function of this site is to provide NC language educators with news and resources.
