Storybird is a website where children, teachers, parents, and other adults can sign in and create a story. This is a free service, but in the future of Storybird they hope to be able to print stories in a professional way which will have a cost associated. You have the choice to create a story by yourself, but you also can collaborate with other people to create a story with multiple authors. Storybird encourages imagination, bringing people closer together, and literacy. Storybird allows you to read books others have written along with share yours to the Storybird community. To begin creating a book, Storybird allows you to get inspiration from artwork submitted by artists or from themes provided by Storybird. You cannot use your own artwork or create your own artwork in Storybird which can be seen as a disadvantage, but in a way having preloaded pictures makes the creation of the story easier and quicker. Once you choose an artist or a theme you begin with the cover page. Storybird has all of the templates already chosen for you so all you have to do is type in the text you would like and drag the illustration you would like to use. On the bottom of the page you can add more pages, delete existing pages, and reorder your story. Storybird is a quick and very easy way to create a story. Once you create a story you can make it public or keep it private, assign an age group for which your story is appropriate and when others read your story they have a place to comment. This site was created with children in mind and they make their privacy policy very well known that they are here to protect children while allowing them to express their creativity online and share that creativity with others. No personal information is ever given about the author of the story and this website has no profiles for users. This is a great storybook creation site for children, parents, teachers, and other people. It has multiple ways to be used both in and out of the classroom.

Tikatok is a website where you can create your own book using your own pictures scanned into the computer. You can order a copy of your completed book so that you can have a hard copy of what you or your children have created. This is a great tool for teachers or parents to inspire a child's imagination to create a story with both words and pictures.

Kerpoof Studio is a website for children to create books, cards, drawings, movies, or a picture. It is sponsored by the Walt Disney Company, but is not Disney themed. It is easy to navigate and very child friendly.
