The codex, and large parts of The World of Thedas books, about Dragon Age are written in the style of historical documents. Therefore, as with all historical documents, they show the bias of the author. It's a really nice touch by the writers, but it means they shouldn't be taken at face value.

This is me thinking out loud, before I forget this, again... Spirits are sentient pieces of the Fade. The Fade is, to some extent, controlled by the desires of those within it. If one expects to see a demon, even if one sees a spirit, one will believe it is a demon.

Hey Jane! I have a real problem with the location of Skyhold and would be interested in hearing your thoughts about it: Shouldn't it be impossible to feed all these people (and horses too) in the middle of some freezing mountains? Do you have your own headcanons regarding this logistical nightmare?

Important topic for ur consideration: the establishment and growth of Andrastian monastic orders in the Anderfels or western Orlais (like, in/near the Western Approach/Hissing Wastes).
