The relationship between the Evanuris and the Blight - 0 views

  •
Q: if the Old Gods are really the Evanuris, are the Blights and getting the Magisters to breach the Fade actually elaborate revenge on humans (+ also the dwarves or they just didn't care about them)? A:The Evanuris have absolutely no reason to give the faintest fuck about humans, except as a means to get out of the Fade. (Assuming they are, in fact, the Old Gods.) Humans have done … nothing to them. [...]

Archdemons as Keys - 0 views

  •
emynii asked: Do you think the Old Gods/Archdemons are the keys to the Evanuris' prison? And that the grey wardens killing them would have unleashed them? I think it has to be something like that, or he wouldn't get so worked up. But I'm not convinced the Archdemons are imprisoning the Evanuris in particular, cause the Evanuris' prison is the Veil itself, and Solas wants to take down the Veil - he seems to agree that tearing down the Veil would free the Evanuris, but says he 'has plans' for dealing with that. Whereas he gets very upset at the idea of killing the Old Gods and freeing whatever they're holding back.

Really interesting thoughts about the Blights and Old God Babies. - 0 views

  •
Some deaths may have been covered up, as one warden always dying to the Archdemon seems to be a grey warden "open" secret. But what if what we have been told isn't the whole story? Isn't is suspicious that we know 3 of the lovers of the last 4 blights, and have a convenient birth for the first? Something about the process of becoming an OGB seems to "purify" the Old God Soul. Remember: The HERO OF any particular blight is the person who is credited with stopping the blight.

Elves, Dragons, the Old Gods, and the Blights - 0 views

Q: I was reading one of the links in the link thingy and it was talking abt the blight and how solas is grumbling abt the grey wardens (the their defence they found something that seemed to work after a few centuries of dying, who can blame them for sticking to that method) but how do u think the old tevinter gods tie into the blight and controlling the horde?

How waking the Old Gods is akin to Curing Tranquility, and how that's really weird and also raises a lot of odd questions.

Dragon Age Theory: The Old Gods are the Forgotten Ones - 0 views

  •
Let's start with what we know about each of them. The Forgotten Ones:A mysterious part of elven lore that has barely been touched upon. They were apparently the 'evil' counterpart to the ancient elven gods, their purpose being to bring harm to the elven people. They were locked away in the 'realm of the abyss' by Fen'Harel.

Old God Prisons - 2 views

  •
The more time goes by, the more I desperately want to see an Old God prison for myself. There's a note you can find in the Western Approach that reads as follows: "So close. We nearly reached him. Made it down to what looked like a dwarven thaig where the song was actually audible, real and thrumming through the air, not just in our heads. It rattled through the lyrium pillars and shook the earth beneath our feet to its dreadful tempo. We lost thirty men in the last cave-in, and the Warden-Commander is abandoning the mission. I tried to argue for one last push, but the rock is too unstable down there. We'll have to find another Archdemon somewhere solid."

How the Evanuris shaped reality through the vallaslin. - 0 views

  •
We know that the evanuris were god-like figures. It is constantly and heavily implied that this status of 'godhood' was beyond simple reverence, it affected their nature. As Solas says 'the first among our people are not killed so easily'. In the canonical comic 'Until we sleep' we learn of a tevinter magister forming a cult of somniari, 'dreamers' with the goal of using the blood of great dragons to shape the minds of dreamers, and subsequently, reality itself.

How Many Magisters and with What Power? - 0 views

  •
Q:On a semi related note, we still don't know where 5 of the 7 Sidereal Magisters are, just that at least 3 survived, + it seems like the 2 we do have got powers related to their titles (see the wikia pages for the old gods). The Architect has control of physical progression of the Taint + Corypheus (conductor of silence) can mind control Tainted ppl. Sure it's all Blight magic, but schools of magic. Interesting to think what the other titles might be, powers-wise.

"The Alamarri were an animistic people, who worshipped a wide variety of nature deities. Most sacred of all creatures was the wolf, which they believed was created by the gods to be both a guide and protector for mankind." - Dragon Age RPG Players Guide The Alamarri also postdate both the Quickening and the first calls of the Old Gods.

so, like... dwarves. they were originally some Titan hivemind-y minion-y shit. Mythal separated them from the Stone--how benevolent those reasons were or weren't, welp, debatable. but yeah she basically un-hiveminded them. (almost certainly why certain ancient-ass dwarves revered her!) meanwhile... red lyrium is very probably the original source of the taint, pre-dating the Magisters Sidereal and their dumbfuckery. this is even less explicit than Mythal and the dwarves, but it's pretty supportable from the codices and quests. like, the dwarves believe 'the Stone bears a corruption as old as balance' and the Dalish legends get at this too--and we know that lyrium is Titan's blood, and the difference between a Titan and the earth itself is not... particularly easily discerned. so, yeah, red lyrium. probably the original source of the taint. the Magisters sidereal pulled some really stupid fucking shit and clearly made things *worse* but did not originate that shit, despite what the southern Chantry would have you believe. so here's me connecting those facts with the Architect 'awakening' darkspawn from mindless hivemind drones to thinking individuals... who no longer hear the 'song' of the Calling
