    Visualize search results a whole new way with Google Squared. Export your search results and data to a Google Spreadsheet.
  •
    Google Squared takes a category and creates a starter 'square' of information, automatically fetching and organizing facts from across the web. This could be used for vocabulary lists (it includes an image and description and you can add custom columns) or other types of research. Finished squares can be downloaded as .csv or to Google Spreadsheet.>Google Squared#gbar{float:left;height:22px}.gbh,.gbd{border-top:1px solid #c9d7f1;font-size:1px}.gbh{height:0;position:absolute;top:24px;width:100%}#gbs,.gbm{background:#fff;left:0;position:absolute;text-align:left;visibility:hidden;z-index:1000}.gbm{border:1px solid;border-color:#c9d7f1 #36c #36c #a2bae7;z-index:1001}#guser{padding-bottom:7px !important;text-align:right}#gbar,#guser{font-size:13px;padding-top:1px !important}.gb1,.gb3,.gb3i,.gb3f{zoom:1;margin-right:.5em}.gb2,.gb2i,.gb2f{display:block;padding:.2em .5em}a.gb1,a.gb2,a.gb3,a.gb4{color:#00c !important}.gb2i,.gb3i,.gb4i{color:#dd8e27 !important}.gb2f,.gb4f,#gb5{color:#900 !important}.gb2,.gb2i,.gb2f,.gb3,.gb3i,.gb3f{text-decoration:none}a.gb2:hover{background:#36c;color:#fff !important}

Life on the Screen: Visual Literacy in Education | Edutopia - 29 views

  •
    From Edutopia, The role of visual literacy in education.  ...from the article: "When people talk to me about the digital divide, I think of it not being so much about who has access to what technology as who knows how to create and express themselves in this new language of the screen. If students aren't taught the language of sound and images, shouldn't they be considered as illiterate as if they left college without being able to read or write?"

Using a unique combination of new computer vision and fast computation methods, VideoSurf has taught computers to "see" inside videos to find content in a fast, efficient, and scalable way. Basing its search on visual identification, rather than text only, VideoSurf's computer vision video search engine provides more relevant results and a better experience to let users find and discover the videos they really want to watch.

  •
    Finding quality images and photos for complementing an important article, essay or news report is already a challenge for many. Imagine when the goal is not only to find good images, but also to find some that you could openly and freely use without needing to pay royalties or one-time publishing rights...

Silk - 5 views

  •
    Have students to create visual works of art online. Silk is an interactive site where students can drag their mouse around on the page to create beautiful weaving & whirling designs. Drawing lines on the screen will add color to the moving art, & by speeding up or slowing down their movements the effect will change. Students can choose between 6 different colors, & 3 different modes of symmetry. Students can share their creation with a simple link. Have students describe their unique artwork as a description & creative writing exercise. Also available as an app for the iPad.

Maths Maps - A New Collaborative Project | edte.ch - 17 views

  • Maths Maps – A New Collaborative Project
  • Some background Four years ago I created Google Earth resources for the classroom and posted them to the GE Community Forum. Two of them were called Maths in Madrid and Maths in Las Vegas. These were based on the fact that there is maths all around us, every day, everywhere we look. Google Earth (and Maps) gives us a great perspective on it all. It also provides easy access for our students to see rich visual content that depicts everyday maths. I have always loved the idea of children seeing the maths they are working on. The only issue with Google Earth is that it is restrictive in two ways. It is not browser based and it is impossible for me to create a resource for others to collaborate on.

    The American Heritage® Dictionary invites you to create a self-portrait using your words. The words that tell the world who you are. That make you, you. It's easy to do, whether you decide to link to places like Facebook for words you've already written or write something new specifically for your portrait. Either way, you'll create a unique image that can be shared and saved and will remind everyone that You Are Your Words.

    Education is very useful! It's easier for me to gain knowledge visually than to spend energy on writing something. I have never liked writing essays. It took me a lot of time and effort to compose the text. And it got worse at the university. Therefore, it is better sometimes to use additional resources. After I turned to the site https://www.rush-my-essay.com/pay-for-essay/ I had twice as much free time. And I didn't have to suffer on my dissertation.

    For me, writing an essay has always been a nightmare. I couldn't put my thoughts together and write what I wanted. Once I decided to turn for academic ghost writing https://www.academicghostwriter.org/ help for writing my assignments. I was consulted and got my job on time. I'm glad I didn't have to sit for days writing an essay. Thus, I relieved myself of the burden.

    Yes, you must be prepared for anything when attending college. Articles and written works in particular. I had no idea how such intriguing and informative works were created before. Until I had to write residency personal statement editing service https://residencypersonalstatements.net/ . I discovered that you can only write a high-quality, well-designed work with experienced authors. What can you get a good grade for? As a result, best of luck to you.
