I am so desperate and angry that I wish Mother Nature did something to wake those people up. Maybe a massive earthquake or tsunami will show them how bad of the current state our planet is in.

How do you explain the duality of scientific evidence logically pertaining to the results of meta studies both proving and disproving climate change effects and signs?
  •
dal2124240, you don't when it pertains to our newly elected administration.
  •
Again I will ask how do you personally explain the duality of scientific evidence? The last time I check the currently elected administration is not taking English 102 or 101, sharing fact based articles or an attempt there unto pertaining. How do you personally defend your argument against the duality of scientific research; That in the last 30 years the atmosphere over the Antarctic has repaired itself over 150,000,000 square miles despite the increase of carbon emissions?
  •
http://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/. Here you go Dalton. Now, may I ask where you got your "evidence based fact" from, and do you have anymore from any reputable sources?

Understanding the Global Problem of Drug Addiction is a Challenge for IDARS Scientists - 1 views

  •
This article explains the types of drug addiction and how and why it happens.Addiction can happen in almost everyone and scientists struggle on how to find how to stop it.
  •
I prefer research articles over new articles because you can get a quick overview of the resource in the abstract.
  •
The interesting thing about addiction, is what I've read through various studies, is that essentially the largest factors are that it's used to subdue emotional traumas. Some common themes to this are sexual assault, lack of emotional support, and depression.

Dangers of GMO Foods - 2 views

  •
Proponents of GM foods say that the higher yields and improved nutritional content are necessary to ensure adequate food for the world's growing population. Opponents say any claimed benefits of GM foods are unproven, and cite the lack of safety studies and the real and potential dangers to human health and the environment as reasons to ban the products.
  • ...1 more comment...
  •
After skimming the article it is safe to say these GMO foods have several negative effects on the human health and environmental health. Environmentalists fear farmers will need to spray crops with pesticides is upsetting. These GMO foods are doing more harm than good and should be banned. The fact stated about independent farmers are at risk of being sued or having to pay a fee for there crops being contaminated is disgusting and seems to be another was for the system to profit more money.
  •
I enjoyed reading the article and have been somewhat following the issue of GMO's for a couple of years. Anytime a company (Monsanto) owns a majority of a product in a free enterprise society, that is when people should be worried. Not only has Monsanto's product been proven unsafe-the company is forming a monopoly.
  •
GMO's are absolutely terrible. I'm excited to learn more about them just so that I can watch my health later on in life. I'm currently also doing my research paper on GMO's with food and nutrition. I can't wait to take my Patho class as well just so I can learn exactly how GMO's affect the human body.

We Don't Deny Harvey, So Why Deny Climate Change? - The New York Times - 2 views

  •
This article talks about how climate change is the reason for hurricane Harvey. Scientist predicted that this hurricane was going to happen. He also gives examples of climate change and the first steps to help it not to get worse.
  • ...1 more comment...
  •
It honestly baffles me that people do not believe in climate change and global warming. We have tons of SCIENTISTS who work day in and day out to collect this type of data and are clearly the experts yet people like Trump want to say it's a "Chinese Hoax".. it makes absolutely no sense!!
  •
Climate change is an important issue that has an impact far outside the present. I thought the author made an interesting point at the beginning of his article, when he talked about how after 9-11 we found terror but when it comes to climate change people look the other way.
  •
Hurricane Harvey is one of the many signs that climate change is a threat to our planet. The article states that "last year was the third year in a row to set a record for highest global average surface temperature " and since then other studies and reports have only further proven these dacts.

Overcrowding in classes often limits how much help students can get. Overcrowding in classrooms takes away that one-on-one time teachers need to have with their students. It will be harder for teachers to fund a study plan that works for everyone.

  •
A study exhibiting the rate of mortality in the public and how income inequality, trust between social classes, etc, cause a shift in the respective populations. It was found in the conclusion that enough evidence supported the hypothesis to be true that the previously mentioned factors DID lower mortality rate in lower socioeconomic populations.

Whoops, I seem to be a little tired. I meant that the factors DID raise mortality rates in lower socioeconomic communities.

  •
This site goes over the many scientists studying climate change and its impact around the globe. The site also highlights the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), and their efforts to predict the effects of climate change.

  •
Scientists predict the future effects of climate change according reports. Temperatures will continue to increase, and seasons will lengthen. There will be more frequent extreme weather and a rise in sea level.
  •
Climate change is too often ignored, I'm glad that NASA has ongoing updates about the situation. More people should be accessing this site in order to educate themselves.
  •
This is a great article it is also important to know that if we don't get on track it could be too late to reverse the damage. Also how deserts would become even worse wastelands and the weather would be too extreme on earth to be inhabitable.
  •
Using NASA as a source for climate change is great. This is a great web source for being able to quickly see what scientists are saying in active research.
  •
I found this article to be very informative on the effects of climate change. I was not aware that hurricanes would become worse and growing seasons increase.
