joseph augusta on 02 Sep 13Applied to marriage, assuming what's not true, that marriage between two men offends me, it's not the government's role on any level to protect me from being offended. Whatever one thinks of marriage between two men or two women, the argument that such a union negatively impacts those who aren't gay, or those who blanch at marriage between gay people is not compelling. Here's hoping we don't stop at marriage in expanding individual rights, rights that are natural, and that should exist free of political or voter influence.
