Guily until proven innocent - 2 views

  •
This article shows a point of view most people do not think about nor are they faced with this situation in their personal lives. Being accused of a crime and presumed guilty by the media, society and sometimes family before even being tried for the crime.
  •
This article is very interesting! I completely agree that because of the various forms of media in our society today, and the influence they have on the public, people accused of crimes are usually immediately assumed to be guilty. The authors suggestion that names and pictures stay out of the media, while still informing employers, family, or anyone else who comes in contact with the accused is a great way to ensure privacy if they turn out to be innocent, but also to keep them from victimizing others in case they are in fact guilty.

This topic is not brought up a lot, but it should. This article provides a very good explanation behind the saying "innocent until proven guilty". It also explains that not all of us follow under that saying. It is a saying with actual meaning behind it and more of us need to follow it.

Is it right to violate the privacy of someone who is committing an injustice? - 2 views

  •
It is not illegal for someone from the government to violate your privacy. If they have a warrant or not they can still invade your personal life. If they do not have a warrant and find you not guilty then the police officer would be punished.

Child Prtotective Services stealing children without cause - 3 views

  •
This article is just appalling. I can not believe the horror stories that these parents have and are actually living. They have lost their kids to the system that was put in place to protect children not take them away from good parents. Seems the parents are guilty and can not even prove themselves innocent in CPS's eyes.

I am speechless, I would never imagine there would be a corrupt system involving government kidnapping! This is unfair to good parents and it is just ridiculous some of these parents were denied the right to a fair trial to prove themselves innocent.

Is Flag Burning Illegal? - 0 views

  •
Currently, flag burning is not illegal in the United States. The Supreme Court of the United States in its decision from 1969 has ruled that the burning of the flag is protected by the First Amendment. However, the person who burnt the flag can be found guilty of a misdemeanor for starting a fire without a permit. This article tells what laws state that it should be illegal

I believe this article is a good look at what a confirmation bias is. I took a few moments to look up the author. He has authored four books, three of which are about the Clinton family. However desperate the situation may be, I don't believe this article really hit the nail on the head. I am sure I am guilty of this as well however with my own articles, at least one of them. It is really hard to perform research without searching for information that supports a claim. All of that is my opinion. HOWEVER, this is what I would assume to be a Primary Source. Albeit does not have the appropriate domain names, I do believe this would fit the bill for many an argumentative literary pieces. In that regard Kuddos my friend. Great read, and even greater discussion!
