Arizona Immigration vs Federal Law - 0 views

  •
America has arrived at a dangerous, unprecedented moment: an Administration is attacking a state that is simply trying to help the federal government restore the rule of law. The State and Federal government are still clashing heads on what should be done for the immigration laws and still uncertain on the safest and most reliable way to protect our borders and citizens.

Safety vs. Freedom - Is safety worth giving up your liberty? - 0 views

  •
Every day the federal government as well as state and local governments pass laws to make us a safer society. As they make our society safer they are slowly eliminating our rights, liberties, and our personal freedoms. Where is the balance? Is a safe nerf ball society worth giving up our freedoms for.
  •
Every day the federal government as well as state and local governments pass laws to make us a safer society. The government wants to regulate abortion, religion, sex, child discipline, marriage, and free speech. They want to control what you can post on the web, what your kids wear to school, where you can walk across the street, what you can watch in titty bars, what you can say at the office, where you can pray, where you can get high, who you have sex with, what kind of sex you have, what jokes you can tell, and when you can spank your children.
  •
The article discusses how easy it is for the government to take things away from you with very little effort. The author also brings up alot of his own personal views on society and how things are ran in america.

Native American Injustice Issues - 2 views

  •
The United States was built on land taken from Indian nations. Treaties between the US and the Indian nations over land is being overruled by the federal government. The federal government has been overruling sacred places on Native American land.

It is sad that natives to a land are getting their land taken away when they already have enough issues as is like students failing and living in poor housing conditions.
  •
This is a very powerful article. I didn't realize annexation was still practiced however I suppose the idea of imminent domain can be considered modern day annexation. Very sad to see it's practiced mostly on the less fortunate or minority groups.
  •
Native people are the foundation of this country and it is not fair that the government feels that they have the right to take something that wasn't theirs to begin with.
  •
Everyday, the native American community is pushed further into the ground by the American government. Though they were in the America's first, there is little respect to their traditions. This article focuses on thirteen touchy subjects for Native Americans.
  •
the issued shown here are very important issues people don't see native Americans go through. as a Native American myself I see these issues everyday such as a resent issue of a Native American being strutted by a border patrol agent was in a way swept under carpet. the article gives us what native Americans face even the issues where the u.s. had treaties with the native Americans and did not do anything to help resolve the issue but keep in hidden as much as they can.

The Fight Over Privacy and Secrecy in Government Investigations - 0 views

  •
The intertwined issues of privacy and secrecy will force Congress to finally deal with the world of digital information. Being such a big issues and how they are able to use such information against people in court, how was Hillary Clinton able to get off her FBI investigation? It doesn't make senseto me how they abuse this power to convict people in court, but yet our countries elite get off without so much as a fine.
  •
The FBI has exposed itself as a highly corrupted organization by allowing a politician to be above the law. The federal government ought to remove Comey from his position of power as he has said that Hillary should not be charged, although she committed a crime, and was exposed. In other words, he said she is above the law. Which no one person can be above the law in a republic, or a democracy, or any functioning country with laws.
  •
It is not okay for her to get off the hook for the investigation. If other people can't get away with crimes then why can she get away with it. Just like us she is a citizen of the united states so why is should she be treated any different?

Our Federal Reserve - 0 views

  •
Many people don't realize it, but the United States government does not control the United States currency. The Federal Reserve is a private business. The crazy part is that the way our monetary system works is the same way the English banking system worked back in the day. In fact, that was one of the reasons for the Revolution in the first place

Pipelines Explained: How Safe are America's 2.5 Million Miles of Pipelines? - 0 views

  •
This article explains the pros and cons of oil pipelines in the united states. It details costs for maintaining the 2.5 million miles of pipe and cleanup when these pipes fail. The environmental concerns of proponents, and the casualties caused by their inevitable demise through corrosion due to weather and age. This article sites information and data gathered from federal and private environmental agency's and groups outlining the risks of Americas aging and extensive energy pipelines. The scary part is how little oversight on the safety and maintenance these company's who advocate for the safety of these pipes are given. While a slew of federal and state agencies oversee some aspect of America's pipelines, the bulk of government monitoring and enforcement falls to a small agency within the Department of Transportation called the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration. The agency is understaffed and lacks the resources to adequately monitor the millions of miles of pipelines over which it does have authority.

Trump Administration Restricts News from Federal Scientists at USDA, EPA - 1 views

  •
Pres. Donald Trump is now restricting scientist's from sharing their research. Officials at the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and the USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) have both let their staff know that they can not discuss research done by the agency or any departmental restrictions with anyone outside of the agency. This includes talking to the news, releasing photos, posting on social media, and more.
  •
it is frightening to me that our new administration and President are trying to silence science based departments. The taxpayer funds the research that goes on, and therefore has a right to know the outcomes of what they are funding. Gagging scientists because you do not like or agree with what they are saying is childish and has no place in our government.

Welfare Issues - 1 views

  •
Individuals today face many issues with welfare. An article that states what works and doesn't work for the system. People believe welfare should be regulated by the state not the federal government.
  •
It is sad to see the welfare state of this country. Those who are on top are generally Republican and most people do not know how economics work. Those who are poor or middle class are far more likely to spend money thus stimulating the economy. If welfare is to be implemented it should be far less discriminatory.
