It was a very interesting article. Definitely useful to see the issues that GMOs bring from different angles.

I liked this article, it gave me some insight into GMO's that I didn't have before. Thanks for posting:)

GMO's are very unhealthy to a human beings diet. Numerous health problems increased after GMO's were introduced in 1996. The percentage of American's with three or more chronic illnesses increased from seven percent to thirteen percent in nine years. GMO's will be used for the rest of our lives.

Non-GMO Project - 0 views

  •
Everything consumers and retailers need to know about the non-GMO project. Standard are used to assist people to better understanding and to affect change with in the agricultural industry. Helps with verification of products.

This link doesn't lead to an article. GMOs face a lot of debate but after a lot of testing there has yet to be any solid proof that they cause any harm to the people consuming GMO foods. In fact, all bananas are GMO's. The practice of modifying crops to yield more food has been happening for as long as humans have grown crops. Companys that make the seeds are pretty awful. They treat farmers horribly.

Some U.S. States Finally Passing Laws to Make GMO Labeling a Requirement - 0 views

  •
Connecticut and Maine passed laws requiring GMOs to be labeled. California also tried to pass such a law but was stopped in its tracks by :"The Big Six", the six companies in charge of the worlds seed, pesticide, and biotechnology industries. Japan, Europe, Australia, Russia, China, and Brazil have passed laws requiring GMO labeling and the United States still hs not despite the fact that a whopping 90% of Americans feel genetically modified foods should be labeled as such.

Dangers of GMO Foods - 2 views

  •
Proponents of GM foods say that the higher yields and improved nutritional content are necessary to ensure adequate food for the world's growing population. Opponents say any claimed benefits of GM foods are unproven, and cite the lack of safety studies and the real and potential dangers to human health and the environment as reasons to ban the products.

After skimming the article it is safe to say these GMO foods have several negative effects on the human health and environmental health. Environmentalists fear farmers will need to spray crops with pesticides is upsetting. These GMO foods are doing more harm than good and should be banned. The fact stated about independent farmers are at risk of being sued or having to pay a fee for there crops being contaminated is disgusting and seems to be another was for the system to profit more money.

I enjoyed reading the article and have been somewhat following the issue of GMO's for a couple of years. Anytime a company (Monsanto) owns a majority of a product in a free enterprise society, that is when people should be worried. Not only has Monsanto's product been proven unsafe-the company is forming a monopoly.

GMO's are absolutely terrible. I'm excited to learn more about them just so that I can watch my health later on in life. I'm currently also doing my research paper on GMO's with food and nutrition. I can't wait to take my Patho class as well just so I can learn exactly how GMO's affect the human body.

GMO Labeling not legally required in the U.S. - 0 views

  •
In the U.S. it is not legally required to label if a food has GMOs or not. Many other nations require such labeling. The fact that we do know know what our foods are made with or where they came from makes it impossible to make an educated decision on whether or not we want to purchase foods made with GMOs or not.

The 19 Biggest Food Problems in America - 2 views

  •
This article shows you through cartoon and facts on how food in America is leading to the reason why obesity is so common here. It shows in one of the summary that a school can consider pizza as a vegetable because of the tomato paste they use as sauce and how we are so used to the GMO in foods that the organic stuff doesn't taste as good to use and makes people not want to buy it, not to mention the higher price of the food that is better for you.

Reading this article was actually really disgusting to think about. Just thinking that tomato paste is a form of vegetable is crazy. We really need to step it up.
  •
To me that wasn't very shocking. I know that mountain dew is banned in Europe because of a toxic chemical(brominated vegetable oil BVO) that is illegal in Europe to use in food. And there are many more I know of. It is scary that in this country nobody really cares about educating people about what they eat. What is worse is that the perception is, that the government doesn't give a damn about what is in our food.
  •
It's so sad to see America keep rising on the list for obesity. It honestly makes me scared to eat certain foods. Foods with GMO's are nearly no where near what they used to be. They used to be so mild and didn't have all of the other crazy chemicals in them. I wish we would go back to how it used to be. I can't wait to get my own house so that I can have my own little chickens and my own garden.

Obesity Consequences | Obesity Prevention Source | Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public H... - 0 views

Obesity and unhealthy habits are a huge social issue in the world today, especially in The United States. Obesity is one of the highest causes of deaths in that U.S right along side tobacco use. A time passes on even more GMO and artificial food with be introduced into the world only making it worse.
  •
This sort of problem is only made worse when unhealthy foods are more accessible to the poor than the healthy alternatives. This is done simply because it is more profitable to make things like fast food easier to repeatedly buy.

Debunking What the Health - 1 views

  •
What the Health is a documentary on Netflix that explains the health benefits of an all plant based diet. It is a very biased documentary. It tries to get you to go Vegan. No animal products what so ever.
  •
Some might say my mom is a bit of a health nut, and she definitely avoids feeding us processed foods and GMO products, but she doesn't cook vegan. The fibers and proteins packed inside of organic and dieted (grass fed) meats are very important for a balanced nutrient intake. Obviously, I agree more with the writer than the show producer.
  •
I heard of this show several times. I want to watch it for myself to see what its all about. I also would never go Vegan.
