I haven't seen anything yet that beats old!delicious for subscriptions and aggregated network.

Pinboards network seems as close as it gets to delicious' network, but you can only see your own network (so no checking out who other people are following).

Man, one of the things I loved about delicious was that fics I'd be interested in basically showed up on my doorstep already labelled with important information. That's the reason when they when through the hubbub last December and I backed up bookmarks up in diigo & pinboard that I ultimately stayed on with delicious. *sigh*

So regarding a subscription replacement: I've got nothing. :(

"I don't think many people understood the functionality of delicious"...yes, especially the new owners of delicious. It looks like they're putting all their eggs in one basket with this new "stacks" feature, while throwing out the baby with the bathwater on EVERY SINGLE OTHER ASPECT OF THE SITE. (clearly, I'm not bitter at all. :P)

Well, that's putting a positive spin on it. Everywhere I looked (and not just in fandom LJs, but on twitter and the comments on their stacks youtube vid, etc) people were NOT PLEASED.

IF they restore the functionality that made the site what it was (subscriptions, network aggregation, searching that works, tag bundles, and the ability to see and manipulate your own bookmarks and tags) then people will continue to use it. Basically, they're on probation.
