I chose this topic also because I am currently on antidepressants. I suffer from depression. What I liked most about this article is that it stated that most colleges offer free or low-cost mental health services to students. I was not aware. What I would like to know more about is different ways to cope with depression without the use of medicines.

I like the part of this article that talks about why students do not seek services. I have always felt that if you can go to the doctor for any other part of your body that is ailing you, why not go to the doctor for the part that affects your mood. There is nothing wrong with seeking help when it is needed. Great article.

Depression effects more people than you know. Being overwhelmed with college courses and everyday life is normal. Developing a routine I think would help. I do not suffer from depression per say, but I do have anxiety about being able to finish this on top of everything else I have going on.

College depression isn't a clinical diagnosis, but rather a form of an adjustment disorder. It is a stress-related mental illness. The signs & symptoms of 2 different people both with college depression could be polar opposites of each other and still both have this disorder.

I chose this article to find out just how prevalent stress is on college campuses and was shocked at the some of the information I found there. The two top stressors would include depression and anxiety, however, eating disorders were also mentioned. The sad statistic I found surprising was that an average of 1,100 students commit suicide every year! I can think of nothing more that I would have liked to seen in the article; it even ended with the fact that more students are seeking and getting much needed counciling.
