PBS Teachers is a wonderful site with lots of resources and supplemental material for teachers to use with students. This particular link will take you directly to the STEM education resource center: Professional Development and the focus on this page is Global Climate Change Modules from PBS and NASA. However, if you look at the top of the page you can choose a specific grade band and then within that there are various content areas that can be chosen. Looks like a very interesting site with lots of resources to select from.

This is really cool. What a great way to get guys interested in financial issues. In order to successfully win the game students must answer different levels of financial questions.

Get the Math is a new multimedia project from Thirteen. It illustrates how math fits in to exciting careers, such as development, and music. The materials include training videos, lesson plans, music fideos, and interactive tools designed to challenge and engage students in developing algebraic thinking skills.

The British Council's Learn English website offers 69 interactive activities for learning the rules of grammar. The activities are not listed by grade level so you will have to preview them to determine which activities are best suited for your students.

Edhelper.com is a site with a variety of activities for students. Teachers can create puzzles, print quick handouts, provide critical thinking handouts, word search, sudoku, hidden square puzzles, logic shapes, and much more.

When a teacher is looking for a new way to teach a student, a concept, or a lesson, the chances are the best resource is another teacher. On LessonCast, teachers share ideas and resources through screencast videos called lessoncasts. The LessonCast community connects educators with classroom-proven experience and great ideas.

Jefferson Lab is a good place to find educational online games and puzzles. I initially discovered this resource a couple of years ago when one of my students played "Who Wants to Win $1,000,000?" during a study hall period, she had learned about it from one of her other teachers. The games and puzzles on the Jefferson Lab site are math and science games with one word game thrown in for good measure.

Smart Kit (no affiliation with SMART) offers a large collection of games, puzzles, and riddles for students of all ages. The content of the collection ranges from simple drilling-style games to challenging word puzzles. There are sixteen categories of games offered by Smart Kit. The categories of most interest to educators are probably the math puzzles and word puzzles categories.

Fling the Teacher is a website containing 68 history quiz games. All of the quizzes have at least fifteen questions and a few of the games have more than 100 questions. The average is 30-45 questions per quiz. Prior to starting each quiz game students can create their own custom game character.

Really Cool PBS resource called Election Central. It covers all aspects of the election process. It includes lesson plans, videos, virtual field trips, inside the debates as well as an interactive map of the election. There is also a resource called Election Collection which has a variety of historical election information and resources. Great resource of educators and students.
